Sage advice here. We call any 30s pick up "forbidden fruit" as it is nearly impossible fit comfortably for any amount of time.

have a 32 sedan with all the leg room plus extra

Extended cabs, no matter if it’s behind the door, middle of the door, or the cowl, all look goofy, at least to me. Even my 36 pickup is tight, and I’m only 5’9”, albiet a little, shall we say, portly. Even my 60 F100 isn’t exactly roomy, nor is it comfortable.

I like the looked of chopped early pickups, but know my limitations and would consider one to be garage art, not something to drive much beyond walking distance.

Fact is, I’m more suitable for a coupe or sedan than an early pickup, and even cars like my early Falcon and its 1965 off topic sibling are tight. I think that’s partially responsible for the popularity of Tri five Chevies and (cover your ears) muscle era cars. They’re actually almost comfortable to drive for those of us that aren’t of depression era stature.

I agree. Stretched doors, cowls pushed forward, lengthened behind doors all look bad.

It's funny, there have been at least a dozen 6'4" How Do I Fit questions here on the HAMB.
They all end up with some saying do what you can to make room, some saying suffer for style and some saying change your vehicle so you can enjoy. I say this as a 6'4" guy who ended up with a T-Bucket. It works, but isn't a hop in and drive long distances, yet.

I tried the Bruce’s Rod Shop pickups on for size at last year’s LSR. He said the key to making them comfortable is to not reduce the height of the seat base, but to thin the seat back as much as you can. I’m only six foot and 200 pounds, but I fit just fine.

I’m only 6’0 and 200ish, but even a 48 f-1 is tight on leg room with a stock seat.

  7. I'm one of the few people that drove all day in a 32 pickup. I was never able to get the throttle pedal to where my leg didn't hurt but I am old and beat up. I'm also 5'7" and the seat back was real close to the cab wall. When you measure from the cab wall to the firewall, the tape won't lie to you. There's not much room. :)

Did 500+ miles in 8 hours in my deuce pickup yesterday over those wonderful Kansas roads to the south. At one point it was in the 90's with of course no air. This is after getting out of the hospital Monday. Remarkedly I could still walk when I got home last night. Slept good and will be back in the truck in a little while for today's road trip. Love my deuce truck.

There certainly is that issue with a lot of cars and particularly motorcycles, where after being all chopped about, sectioned, channelled etc etc they look incredible!!

Then you put an actual human being in or on it and they look ridiculous!

A certain grey sectioned shoebox ford recently popped up in a new YouTube video suggested to me the other night, first thing I thought when I saw the rolling shots with a driver and passenger was " well that's the illusion ruined!!

Gotta agree with the most excellent Clint Eastwood meme up there, get yourself in a sedan.
