Here is the update I promised.

The paint is PPG Waterbased VW green. It is a European only color so it was only available in waterbased paint. I had never shot it before but I like it. It is time consuming so I am glad I don't have to paint the whole car.

Also included are pics of the truck-arm suspension. It looks good. I hope it works well and rides like everyone says it will.

I took a weeks vacation at work to focus on one thing, working on my roadster. By the end of Monday, here is where I am at. The more I add to it, the better it looks and the better the contrast between the green and white.

Is that a Kilbourne Rod Shop body? The steelwork looks familiar and so does the firewall treatment like my friend's 32 3W Coupe we built about 3-4 years ago.
Project looks great, can't wait to see finished product.

Wow, a white chassis like some had in the old days. I like it.

    Motor looks great, too.

The pic with your daughter holding the parts is priceless... she looks so serious about working on the car :)

The body is from Cain's Hot Rods in Fredonia, NY. His bodies may or may not be based on a Kilbourne. Again, I am really happy with Carl Cain's stuff and you can't beat the price.

I Already took a week this year also. I have Up to 7 weeks of vacation this year, but I have two others already accounted for. So I have 4 more weeks I could use on my car, but I can't take them all at once. :( Soon as we get a new Davenport installer, I'm taking 2 weeks, VERY VERY excited to do so. .
    Lookin Super clean!
you base clear all that or is most of the white single stage?

The white is single stage. The green is waterborne base/clear

So last week I painted the wheel wells, firewall, and bottom of the body. Then I managed to get the body on the chassis by myself (with some help from the chain fall and 2 ratcheting straps. Also, I added a shameless plug for the HAMB. 'Til next time.......

Not much has changed on the car visually. I have been working on the wiring and fitting the removable hard top and windshield. It goes to paint on Wednesday of this week so a post is in the near future.

To all: I am not dead, I did not fall off the face of the earth. My painter, Doug Weber of Toys Done Right in Dubuque has been burning the midnight oil on getting the '32 in tip top shape. He even had his girlfriend in on the mix, now that's true love. Anyway, here it is, back in my dad's garage so I can tidy up the underneath and get driving this thing.

Wow. I love that color and your choice of components for this build. Your fab skills are pretty damn good too! You're in the home stretch!!

Nice work . I like the white wheel arches & firewall . I like a full-fendered car - can't wait to see it done .

man that color looks killer in the sun. You should have put up some outside pics dude! Doug has a few on Facebook (haha you don't do facebook) that make that color pop.
Can't wait for you to do burnouts in front of my house at 2am.

I pretty much took the summer off. I attended Back to the 50's in Minnesota and the Goodguys Des Moines events. Although I had fun, it sucked not having a car. My wife and I also had our second child, a daughter. Now that is something I wouldn't change for the world. All is well and I deceided to get back out in the garage (or my dad's in this case) and keep moving on the '32. Enjoy and "damn, it feels good to be back!"

Finally back at home. I'm really stoked now that the grille shell and fenders are on the car. Maybe a fall run yet this year?????
