  7. Ralph Arias' Deuce Roadster has some great history (it's the old Bruce Geisler / Chipmunks roadster) ... Ralph built the majority of his roadster in his home garage ... its history & build is well chronicled @ http://www.32hiboy.com.

In 2006, I picked Ralph's roadster for my father's Memorial Award @ the 20th Goodguy's West Coast Nationals:

  9. As @Z.Diddy, @Tri-Deuce-Dicky,& @nwbhotrod confirmed, our old Deuce Roadster (see post #117) is currently owned by Glenn Mounger.

Glenn sent me a few snapshots of the car in his "Barn":

... the flathead is now sporting ARDUN heads:

    Mounger (2).jpg
... the dash was swapped out in favor of a unit with an Auburn insert:

    Mounger (3).jpg
... and braking is now handled via Kinmonts:

Here’s mine - still a project. Ardun on NOS 59A block, Cad-Lasalle, Culver City Halibrand, full set of Kinmonts, original Bell axle & steering wheel, Dick Smith top, etc. Nothing newer than ‘53 or so, lots of parts with history, plus extras. Yeah, I‘ll sell it.

  13. Here's a couple of mock up shots of my roadster that's been in my family since the early sixties, and some photos of it from when it ran at deer park dragstrip back in the late fifties.

    Pete Henderson Roadster

Some of rodding's biggest names Don Blair, Vic Edelbrock, Manny Ayulo, Jack McGrath, Ralph Guldahl, Art Chrisman, and almost Tom McMullen have helped shape this roadster's past. But it's lasting identity as the Pete Henderson roadster was secured the moment a horse got involved.[IMG]

PS This pic of the Roadster on Daytona Beach graces the cover of the current 15th anniversary volume of the Rodder's Journal. This is a best-of-best volume filled with the editors' picks from the past 15 years--you gotta spend a few hours with this one![IMG]

i believe that car was built by charles franklin and he described those tail lights as "British sports car tail lights".

It certainly is... back when she was your "topless" hot rod buddy. She drove it from Mich to Md. in the pouring rain with no top.

Still a work in progress . Hopefully she will run by June . That would be the first time she has been on the road since 1957 !

That is one "cool" project with all the "right" stuff! I wish I had the room and the money for a roadster like that! Good luck with it!

Offy 220 - Thanks for the compliments. I’ve owned it for 40 years and it’s still not done. I want to make a pass or three in it at the dry lakes or Bonneville before I croak, but doesn’t look like it will happen. The original idea was to use as many “ancient alloy” parts as possible, build it to race first, then street it. Been disabled since ‘88 so have to hire everything done now. Wife retired this year, so we have to pare it down. Who knows, I might have to trade you out of some of your stuff so you’d have room! Thanks again. TheBo’B
