Well, I have actually been working on the Vicky. Basic, boring, standard '32 stuff like putting in my Pete and Jake's ladder bars, cleaning up the body and welding and grinding (more and more). I am pretty convinced that any idiot out there can build a '32. That must be why they are so popular.....

I filled that gaping hole in the cowl where the old cowl vent rusted out with a new Brookville cowl vent, Ihad to make a new body line just to the rear of the vent. I just used a Mittler Bros bead roller and rolled a 1 inch bead then dollied the back side of it flat and welded it in there...

    Aaron,
In hindsight, there have been a few "tinfoil" panels that I wish I'd taken the time to gl*** from the inside. NE winters have away of adding Bonneville aspects, instead of those Texas Lo-Salt cars.

Well, the hardest part is deciding which stuff to leave and which stuff to fix. I am not trying to make this thing cherry, but I am taking some rot out and leaving it in some places. You know, a rat rod. ha ha

Nice Aaron! Better hurry up and get finished so you can mount the chains on the tires for winter.....you know cause '32's are only good for winter beaters and all.

  9. Hey Aaron, this one is for sale over in Millstsdt, Ill. on the Craigslist. If your not sure what direction to take with yours. It's not too late, Hahaha!:D

Yes it is a Zephyr, and I am going to order a zz top stripe kit for my vicky.

Jeffery, that is the plan. '32 are winter beaters because all of the real heros have Model 40's. ha ha

This is good to know. That rear suspension looks to be the same one I plan to use on my Model A. Now that I'm done working on the silly little German car, I may actually get started on the A this winter. I'll be calling you for tech support.

Is that a genuine JC Whitney tape ZZ Top stripe kit? That would be killer!

Tape off the ZZ top stripes and clear the bare metal and then let the body rust. THEN you'll have something. ;)

Hahaha!!! Well then I'm no hero because I'd take a '32 any day of the week. Although, I am excited to see what you come up with on your three window.

    Here is your update then.....

The frame is all done and welded up, it is fully sitting on its own suspension now, got the motor/******/driveshaft in it. Doors shutting and gaps straightened out.

I still need to get the door handles to work with the latches and figure out some interior stuff then it will be ready for paint....

    Killer profile and stance.

This "winter beater" won't be finished long before it's in a new owner's hands... I'm betting someone is going to come at you with a handfull of cash. Awesome job, Aaron.

Aaron that looks incredible....well as incredible as a 32 can look right haha!!! The stance is perfect and I love the front suspension set up. It's nice to see them on different cars. I'll trade you your 5w back for it!

Brent, you still haven't seen it up close. ha ha It would have to be a lot of money or maybe a trade for an unchopped 5 window. I need a pile like this to bounce in and out of ditches with on the icy Illinois roads in the winter though. I should probably go ahead and weld a place for the clevis to attach to the tow rope to pull me out of the ditch. ha ha

Jeffery, one piece of **** '32 is enough for me, you get started on that coupe and get it looking like this and we will talk. ha ha

Hahaha... maybe you need to do the drop light test again? I don't think we'll be seeing as many pinholes in it this time around... either that or your photo skills have improved.

Fair enough. I'm not going to start on that coupe for a very long time. It's stored as I slowly collect the pieces to put it back together. I end up with two brand new brookville quarters for less then $700 so I think that was a score. Both from Craigslist. I probably won't start on that 5w for another 5-10 years I think. Right now I am boning up to build that '33 3w that I picked up 4 months ago and finish my '35.
