My good friend / business partner, Paul R ussell, just bought this Vicky on BaT, and we're trying to track down the builder. It was built for Neil DeAtley in the early 2000's? The build quality is very high, but like any Hot Rod, it needs some sorting out. Does anyone recognize the car, or know the builder? Thanks.
For right now he’s going to paint the red wheels either black or dark gray. The front and rear suspensions need some work to get rid of the bump steer and bottoming out of the rear axle. Most of the car was built to a very high standard, so fixing this stuff is the fun of hot rodding.
Absolutely beautiful car! I've always been torn between the 5 window coupe and the Vicky, but if push came to shove, I think I'd go for the Vicky. It's kind of the best of both world's. The family man's 5 window coupe...
Neil had his Trans-Am race team based here in Portland, but I think he lived in eastern Washington or Idaho, not sure. Neil p***ed a few years back, he had quite a varied car collection and no doubt had many builders involved over the years. Jim Martin built a track style T roadster at Neils' place but not sure where that was, it was a Street Rodder feature car for June of 2015 and I think Neil also had either a B-400 or phaeton so that could be a small lead. That is a beautiful Vicky by the way.
That's sort of the reason I picked up my 34 Victoria project, albeit, I couldn't post a picture of mine, on the same page as this one. Someday, maybe.
I believe the Vicky was sold by Avant Garde. https://www.a-gc.com/ There was a story on the web, I think they mentioned the builder,
I found the article, YAHOO.com, June 8th. https://autos.yahoo.com/1932-ford-victoria-bring-trailer-123000320.html
Yes, Avant Garde was the seller, and promised further info on the car / builder, but no luck so far. I figured I'd throw it out to the HAMB, in the hopes someone would recognize it, and / or the builder.
I’m pretty sure that is an F1 box, the sector shaft is high on those and the column lower. The later F100 boxes have the column on top, sector on bottom and get in the way with some engines and exhaust.
Looks like a nice car! Best of luck getting it sorted. I bet it'll be fun to drive around when it's ready.
