The man was turning left from Downey Avenue onto Imperial Highway at about 6:15 Sunday afternoon when his car was hit by a Honda that was serving as a pizza delivery car — whose driver was turning left from Imperial Highway onto Downey Avenue, the dispatcher said. A video journalist at the scene said the impact of the crash pushed the Model A back onto Downey Avenue, and caused significant damage. He said the man had minor head injuries, but that the delivery driver was not injured.

Not likely. If he was 89, then he would have been born 1920/21 and have been 12 when he bought the car in the middle of the depression.:D

  9. Yeah, if he bought it when he was 11

weather or not the news people know what end of a pencil does the writing..or the difference between a 32 Ford or a Model A..
I just hope his minor injuries heal up well, and that he sues the **** out of the idiot that probably doesnt even have a clue what his responsibilities are when behind the wheel, especially when representing a company..

I want to know what the 32 looked like and if it was an original car... and that owner is ok. Why do bad things happen to good cars?

To the average yutz, if its pre fat-fender and post Model T, its a "32". Hands up, how many Model A owners on here have had some guy at the local cruise night come up to them in the last 6 months, and say "Nice deuce"?

  19. Hi Nate! Hope your Grandfather is ok and doing good! When I read the post I figured he had an "A" with a '32 grill? An old Hotrodder! :)

Hope Grandpa is doing ok. Cars can be fixed easier than people sometimes.

  23. Nate, I hope the damage isn't too bad to both your grandfather and the A.
Anyone ever notice how we kinda focus on the wrong part of a story like this?? Like some bum reporter is going to know the difference.

    Doc.

    Welcome to the HAMB.
    Car's still salvageable.
Best of luck to your grandpappy's speedy recovery.

  30. Glad to hear your grandpa is doing well and as said before, the car can be fixed. Make sure they pay to repair the car to original shape with steel replacement parts, or NOS!
