    I found a nice seat on Craigslist the guy says it's a 32 3w and 5w... But as far as I knew they are two different seats correct isn't the 3w wider? Does any one have measurements of a 5w seat? Is there any give away so. The seat base to tell the difference between the two?

    Thanks rich

    On the 3 window seat the base is steel but the sides are wood with a wood back. On the 5 window seat the base and sides are steel with a wood back

    Yes, like Krylon32 says. Below is a pic of an original 3W base from our much missed Randy. Note the raised ends on the base to attach the wood sides.

    Below is a pic of a n orig 5W seat frame. Note the metal sides and the curved rear "toe
    kick"

    Hope this helps.

    The sides are upholstered but according to this picture from the back this is a 5 window seat correct?

    The seat and seat base in picture above is a 1930-31 Model A coupe seat

    I believe that kb is correct. The 32 coupes do not use that seat riser (the red part in your photo). Go back to the gigantic pic in post 3. See how the 5W seat base is all metal? The seat sliders attach it directly to the body cross channels originally.

    On the 30-31 coupe seat, the sides are shaped similar to the 32 5W but the bottom is all wood, like this;

    Model a seat will work very well in a 32 5 window. Most folks want know the difference.
