I'm in love with the Deuce Tudor on eBay but what's with the $130K buy price? Yeah, well, I kinda know the answer but cost doesn't always equal value, right? http://www.pixacar.com/pin/10571/
$55 is cheap! My buddy had his 32 5w door fixed 2 weeks ago and the shop rate was $105 ph. Right at $1100.
Could have swore I saw that car in Louisville at the Street Rod Nationals last weekend.....he was cruising around in it or I might be wrong. It is a piece of art.
It is worth what someones deep pockets will pay or not. More power to him if he gets it, its a beautiful ride, one of my favorire sedans built. Eventually if it does not sell, the price will fall to a point where someone feels it is worth it. I think we all know, you rarely make $$ on a hotrod. it is more typical to take a big hit in the shorts when you are the builder.
A Hamber in Texas put a 32 tudor on the cl***ifieds today. Looked like a good start but you still might end up with 100k in it before you get done. It never ends.
Someone, some where, will think that is a bargain price. Of course, they may live in a desert area, speak Farsi and sell oil to American infidels.
Yes it was at the Nats . He let his dad have it for the weekend. You have to look at the car closely to see what drove all the hours of labor. One has to have been around nice cars being built to appreciate his asking price. Seems much of this great sight discusses so much about painting with Rustoleum and doing things on the cheap, so many people lose perception of what a real quality build entails. Don't get me wrong, thirty years ago when I started building cars, I did them as cheap as possible, but with quality fit and finish. I never questioned top builders prices, I only strove to improve my cars so I could demand and get good prices myself.
I like the stance - but I think if that car were mine that I'd have to airbrush some peanuts and some corn kernals on it somewhere....to kinda go along with that body color. Sheesh...
My favorite sedan of late. Our labor rates in LA top $100 +in quality shops. If you want to build your own you can build one for much less. As stated above, "Quality cost lots of $$$$ today." Someone will step up as Boyd used to say.
Personally, I love this Tudor build. The level of quality in the build is extremely high. There was a great write up in The Rodder's Journal including the cover, and he deserves the awards and accolades he has received so far. However, I don't think Steadfast Manufacturing is a 'big enough' name yet to command a $130,000 sale price. I'm quite sure the value is there, but he may have to get another few highly recognized builds done first before the cars start selling at full value. It's been on eBay a couple of times I believe, and I think you're going to see this one drop in price a bit before someone bites on it. Posted via telegraph.
I'll have to read the Rodders Journal feature again, flawless build, someone will step up an become the new caretaker. Bob
Agreed....................just how do you go to the paint store, look at all the colors and pick that one? Were they giving away a free bucket of chicken with the purchase of a gallon?
I seen it at the nats in louisville, real nice car. If I had won the lottery it would be in my garage.
You are buying a very nice car with a lot of press. He will get it. Might not be today but some will step up. Yes you can find a shop to do work for 45 bucks a hour and have a car that looks very close but it will not have the press and it will only be another nice car That Joe blow has 75-80,000 into his build.
