Henry at Steadfast Mfg. - the builder and a HAMBer - will jokingly tell you that he picked the color after changing his infant daughter's diaper one day.

For anyone that's seen the car in person, you'll see the merit in the asking price. I've had the privilege to see the car twice in person. Gorgeous and very well thought out car built to drive the piss out of, yet nice enough to rack up award after award if that's your thing. One of the nicest Deuce Tudors hot rods built in recent history without question. Henry is the real deal too - great guy.

By the way, Henry, if you're reading this, you still owe me some pics and a testimonial . . . and dammit, how about a ride next time! "WIZARDS!" ;)

No doubt a beatiful car with a great stance and quality build.

Color is for a limited buyer audience-someone would have to love the color and that may be tough. If the plan was to do a super build, get the car out to shows and get as much ink as possible, then put it up for sale, they would have had an easier time selling it by going with black or another color. The color is like a "no color"-what you get when mixing a bunch of colors together, like in a cleanout jar.

Low hanging exhaust bugs me. Car looks *****in though. How a Deuce Tudor should look!

With this car the owner is the builder......while sedan's are not my first favorite .......you've got to see this car in person to appreciate the workmanship .....and they are a good bunch of guys!!
    I hope they get it.....

Hey, it's a nice car and Henry did a great job. Give credit were credit is do, I'm sure most of us would give a left n&t to have car on the cover of the RJ!

  6. The color is a variation of a 1932 Harley Davidson color
The car is crazy nice in real life

That sedan is perfect in every way...

  8. Perfectly said. Not that I could afford it, but real quality work costs real money. This car has it in spades. Hour for hour, and dollar for dollar he is probably breaking even.

The real value of the car will eventually be determined once it sells. As we all know, a car is only valued at what someone will pay for it.

    I wish him great luck.

It's a great looking car and I'll bet $130,000 doesn't break him even. My guess is he's selling at a aloss.

  12. That car is absolutely stunning. Its a prime example that less is more. 130k would not cover the parts and labor from a quality shop. Yes you could build it for less for yourself if you consider your labor free but don't forget the amount of equipment and skill needed. I really like how stance, style and execution makes an un-orthodox color look awesome.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, the color is a Harley Davidson, variation. These pics taken from the build thread all have a different look depending on the lighting. I like that it is different, won't be two of this color at any show.

    I love the H.A.M.B.

So as for the Exhaust, I didn't think that far ahead when I designed the center cross member... Lesson learned. I was so consumed with everything else I kinda forgot till the end.. I was 26 years old when I built ch***is, not using that as an excuse, just saying! ;) All center cross members I do now have provisions for exhaust!

Now on to the color, You will have a very hard time making a statement using the same ole color everyone else keeps using... When I picked out the color these were my guide lines..

    -No BLACK or RED
    - It cant be a color that was used on a famous car in the last 5 years
    - Primer and rust is over done

Now on to the price... I built the car, I was there every single hour. I might only have about 5 bucks in the car out of pocket..But what are the countless hours building and bartering it worth? So what if my name aint Brizio or Foose, That don't mean I am gonna give it away. Ask any big hotrod shop what it cost to build a belly ****on 1932 whatever and you will not get a price under 100k. I have 3 '32 builds in my shop right now and we hit the 50k mark in parts alone... If you have never build a quality car with good parts its hard to imagine but it adds up!

So the question you should all be asking is "What if he does not sell it for that kind of money?" Then I will reply "Continue to drive the piss out of it!" This car is one year old and has over 30'000 miles on it, I am getting ready to put my 3rd set of tires on it, and the car will probably see 5 more burnouts before I am done typing!

Love your at***ude, dude! Build it, drive it, if no one wants to pay your price for it, keep driving the piss outta it and enjoy it. Life is short, live it.

    "Forty grand tops."

It'll go a lot more than that !

"Check the rear wheel arch revels, precisely shaped to tires. It's all in the details."

This is exactly what I noticed and admired about the stance.

This car grabbed all of us at last year's Revival. That's why we picked it for the feature in TRJ 58. Every time I saw it that whole weekend it was in motion (usually burning the rubber off those tires).

The weather was crummy in Ohio when we wanted to shoot it. Henry said, "No problem. I'll send my old man down to Florida with it. He needs a vacation anyway." 1,000 miles each way, and Henry's folks drove it hard the whole time. That car is a true hot rod.

    Good luck Henry.

I really like that color, outstanding choice indeed!

I maintain that any car worth the effort they put into that, needs fenders. Love the 32 aqnd they did beautiful work.

Before you judge: this is my model A which I have pulled all the fenders and running boards, took them down to bare metal, repaired the rust and old patches, and am still working on finishing the repaint on the front grille....just to sell it off. This pic is after repair of the rear panel, cutting out the rear-end, c-notching the frame and repainting the gas tank, frame covers, and rear fenders.

I had no idea what I was getting myself into on this car.

But that's not the pint of this... that brownish-green on that 32 is really beautiful! Kudos!

It's amaze's me how people can critisize, when most don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.

Have seen the car twice and it is a work of art
    Great Build Steadfast !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree. That car does NOT need fenders. It's a beautifully executed Bonneville inspired open wheeled car. Fenders would not have captured the intended vibe, imho.

Absolutely stunning build. Theres no doubt in my mind your name will be synonymous with Brizio or Foose if thats what you decide you want. I hope you keep building killer hot rods just like this one...and based on your response, Im confident you wont let these keyboard cowboys distract you. That car will sell!...and at a price you decide is worth the thought, engineering and work you put into it. Theres probably not a half-dozen dueces out there on the road (anywhere on the planet) that have the complete package like this car does. Congrats on a outstanding build and all the well-deserved press!

I`m not here to **** up to Henry but after spending some time with him at a couple of shows and having ample time to preuse the entire car I have a couple of observations.

The first is that unlike some of the pro builders encountered, Henry is very approachable, humble and has the vision to create vehicles that exude quality, individuality and all have that just right stance we all strive for on our rides. We can sit and talk hotrods all afternoon and he doesn`t bowl people over with opinionated remarks of how things should be. He does what he wants and is ok with other builds too.

The second is I have built cars for years and know how long it takes to touch each part of a quality build. Whether it`s painted flat black or basecoat/clearcoat, the time still has to be devoted to make every part right. The details on his `32 rival anything I`ve seen from the "big name" shops out there. Well executed on all fronts and the miles denote how reliable the car is.

I know when I get the build done and spend a little time with the car I`m looking to move on to the next project and need to make room so hopefully someone that has more money than time will buy and wear the car out driving it.

Good job and I hope you get close to your price.

I didn't get very many miles out of my front dirt trackers either.

They seem very soft, and wear very unevenly.
