A cream would look good as well but it would be a pain to keep clean.

this car should NOT be hottrodded but restored to its orig condition.

  3. Really been thinking that way, but still up in the air...

  4. And if you would have funded this project, i gladly would have went that way. Thinking about giving the engine and trans to a local auto museum if that helps any.

the entire car should be in a museum. personally, i'd have more fun driving it in stock condition. after it's 'hotrodded' it becomes less special.

  7. Thank You X 2. Geeze if i would have restored it I'd have never been on here. I'm a tin butcher, but i left in as is shape, not easy for me to do !!! Get over it and move on to a different subject. Christ anybody can RESTORE a car.:)

  8. Thank-you very much about my niece. She's strong but things are taking their course. Thinking a non-metallic color for the fenders. If need be I'll finish them in primer and drive this SOB by Labor day. I'm starting to piss myself off !!!

How about a cream in a flat with blue pinstripe?

If you really want one of these in a museum, mine is 95% or so original. Barring the repaint, of couse, since the car is 79 years old. Come by with 20 grand in the trunk of a 70 Charger 500 and we'll talk. Otherwise, it is what it is, and that's it.

I have absolutely no issues with what scruffy has done with this car. Mine will stay as close to stock as I can keep it for as long as I can, but once something major goes it's hello new drivetrain. The cable brakes may need to find a new home even sooner than that.

What good are they if you can't drive them?

there are cars that should be hotrodded then there are cars that should NOT. this is definitely one that should be kept in stock condition simply because of it's incredible condition and rarity. restored to it's original condition it would be one in a million. hotrodded, it will be one of millions.

  13. Actually it would be one in 13,000. There are restored ones out there already and I don't do restorations. Thats why I'm on this site. Besides i like to drive my cars at freeway speeds for hours on end, stock wouldn't cut it and if it broke I'm screwed. Funny thing is this was for sale on here for 3 months and nobody cared or wanted it before i bought it.

I can't believe how nice those bumpers came out

I only have one decent one left so either I have to wait until I find one up for sale or I can try to fit some 32 ford ones on there.

  17. The bumpers were really pitted, but the windshield frame and grille were way worse. I can't say enough about The Chrome Sop. They did wonders.

What did you wind up using for a brake pedal setup?

Boy, that IS a nice unit, I'm looking at their website right now. Looks like I may be able to use the stock pedal pads as well!

    Hey guys,
I've been reading this post for some time now, and have come across a 31 or 32 willys 5 window. I am not sure how to tell the difference? It appears to all be original. Any help would be appreciated. One more thing, MilwScruffy would you part with the original wheels? Again thanks for the time guys.

  23. I will but i gave away the 2 best and the other 3 are really, real rough.

Axis, there is a difference in the grill shell and the length of the hood. Otherwise they're pretty much identical. If you can post a photo I can tell you which it is.

I just un-buried the 31, looks like the wheels are 6 on 5.5" I guess I can forget the Ford parts. Is there anything close to being applicable out there in that bp? Durango/Dakota bp is 6 on 4.5, already checked.

  26. Wow mine were 5 X 4 1/2". Big difference for one model year, too bad.

They did make a truck model in 31, maybe you could have up-optioned for the bigger wbp. Figures, some guy in 1930 orders bigger brakes thinking it's a great idea and I'm getting screwed 80 years later. I suppose I could buy ford wires but that's another added expense I wasn't planning on. I really wanted to keep the stock wires.

The only 6 on 5.5 bp out there that I can currently find is toyota. But that eliminates the front drop axle so it's back to square one.

  29. Yep, for the second time around !!! Still trying to make it look pretty and making progress.

  30. Guess he definately wouldn't like my 1932 Willys!

So very true! I have 2 1000+ mile weekends pulling my camper with mine this summer already in the books. Still have a few 400 mile weekends planned! These cars are meant to be driven.
