My questions about a 1932 Chevy 5 Window Coupe: 1. What to do to lower the front end and retain the stock look as much as possible and use hydraulic brakes? 2. I need to change the entire braking system and drums to hydraulic - where is the guidance for this? 3. Which steering set-up will work? a. Is there a best known swap for this 32 Chevy? b. Can I modify a 65 to 68 Mustang steering system (tie rods, ends, etc.., and drums to work on the stock 32 straight axle? This 5 window coupe is stock and I want to drop the stance a few inches. I want to keep the current look up front (double leaf springs), only dropped a few inches and add a safer steering system and hydraulic brakes all around. I do not want that Mustang II look up front. The car is going to look old school as much as possible, but I want it safe too. It will be an occasional driver on nice days. I have a suitable 9 inch Ford rear that I can weld perches to and drop the rear stance, and I can find a driveshaft OK too. FYI - I have access to numerous 60's era Mustang parts to pick from if they will work. Help!!!!

Front axle from '48 to '53 Chevy pickup should bolt right in, measure to be sure but the one in my '53 Chevy truck will bolt right into my '31 coupe. That will get you hydraulic drum brakes on the front.
