    Paul;
    I believe the dark Blue 33 is my buddy Aarons car..taken at Woodward Dream Cruise .
    He also was the guy responsible for restoring Johnny Rocca's Tin Indian.

    Here's another 33 for ya !

    Weasel posted a few pics of it back on page 9, and one appears to be from a car show. But other than those pics he posted, I have never seen any more pics of it, other than the Rodders Journal.

  9. Hey Paul;

    May have been out west ..but it still has our drag race club decal on the side window.
    Last I saw it ,the car had a shafforoff motor, mechanical injection ,and was doing back to back laps of 185-190 ,and legal for the street !!

    Neat thread! I've seen a few pics of my '33 in here in all of it's iterations, here it is again.
    First it was Bob Chipper's car in basic black. Then Paul Day's ride as the Agitator. Later made into a street car up in Canada (after being owned and raced by Bob Easterbrook up there...) by Tony Dunn who painted it orange. I got my hands on it a few years back and changed it back some...bobbed the fenders, removed the running boards and put a small block with 2-4's and a tunnel ram.

    This thing sure lived up to its name. I wonder if there's anything left of it today.

    Anybody got any 33-36 Willys projects going on? I'd love to see what you've got. Especially the frame and suspension.

    I am about half done with my '36 sedan. A resto-rod, street rod, with a TPI motor!
    Have a few pictures, but not savy enough to post them (old guy)...need a tutorial for dummies! Stock frame, re-worked, boxed, MII front end, narrowed 9" rear, w/disc brakes. Trying to fit vintage air unit under small Willys dash, and get all those accessories under the hood. Also have some ideas to try and improve stock looking headlights...not the design, just the function. Have had several Willys, but this is my first early one, and they are small by comparison to my others. Have fitted 4 fiero buckets into it...two in front with seat speakers, but cut down the two in rear (to see out the window.) Filling the roof, but putting cloth over my fill, to retain the original fabric look. Only custom touch is a flush fitting gas door where the original was.
    Rest of exterior has that stock touch, including spare tire cover w/locking hub cap, and front/rear bumpers!

    Sounds like a cool project. That's a lot of stuff to cram under the hood of a 36. I like your roof idea. I've thought of doing that my self. I'd love to see it.

    Choke, I saw your work on this car when Mick posted a bunch of it on Gas-Fx last year. Your fab skills are awesome. I love all the extra detail you put into all the bracketry and such. That tilt mechanism is cool too. Hopefully the owner will finish it soon.

    Thanks for the compliments WillysRule, what era of gasser are you going to build your car to? I wish I could find a race weight 33 body shell to build an ultra light West Coast C/GAS 9.60 car. All the available bodies are street weight. I think with an aluminun headed SBC and clutcflite it could weigh in at 1800-1850 w/ driver. Wouldn't that be COOL!!!!

    Choke:

    That would be a cool piece. I'd like to see it happen. You might be able to talk to one of streetrod glass body builders to build you a race weight body.

    Mine's going to look like a late 60's gasser. I've got an original frame that'll get boxed and supported by a cage with removable door bars. I've got an old Olds/Pontiac rear, and 'll probably put ladder bars and coilovers on it, with a 4-bar and coilovers in the front with a straight axle. Probably a blown BBC with Hilborn injector (upright or bugcatcher?) converted to EFI. But that's all a ways off. I'm anxious to get started.

    Choke,

    You build some awesome stuff! I enjoyed following the Willys build on Gas-Fx too! Very nice craftsmanship!

    Some more 33 pics....sorry if any are reposts!

    [IMG]

    Looks like Aron's 33..

    [IMG]

    This car was virtually un-beaten in its day. K.S. set every record there was and won every BIG race there was with this car. This is the one that was a part of the big tour to England in 1965.

    [IMG]

    Unfortunately, this is how it wound up. This happened in his home town of Mineral Wells Texas...interesting note.. they closed the drag strip the day the accident happened and never re-opened.

    [IMG]

    Not a 33, but its pretty good reading... Its a letter K.S. wrote to NHRA thanking them for their safety rules after he crashed his 33.
