Planning out a few things in advance and just hoping that some Hambers can share their knowledge here please?

What size fasteners should be used to attach the subrail to the frame rails and the also the floor and Trans cover to the X member? The holes are a different size. There were caged nuts on the X member that will be replaced and I was thinking of welding new caged nuts to the underside of the frame rails too to make fitting the floor a little simpler. I can't imagine how one would drive a bolt in and hold the nut inside the frame with the floor in the way??

  2. I don't remember the trans cover attaching to the x-member . . . believe it was to the floor boards. I have a stock frame in my shop - will check it out for you. If I remember correctly, seemed that most of the body to frame bolts were 5/16 NF - the ones that went into the caged nuts.

Thanks B&S the nuts I have are 5/16 24. My frame is not here so I can't measure the frame rail holes but when I looked at it today it looked like the same size would work on the rails too even though the holes are bigger.

Thanks AngleDrive. Roy has a great selection no doubt. Thanks for the link. These are not listed for location as far as I can see so it might need a call to Roy.
