Here's proof that some guys just get off on a challenge... There's no other reason to not use that thing for parts... He's doin' it for the before and after pics... God bless 'em!

Seriously, I am always wandering through this board with a look of shame upon my face. I have never seen what this guy is capable of, but just taking on something like this (essentially, this thing is a parts car) and believing you can do it... ambition!
Amazement and Shame for me! I should stop being so Bloody lazy with my build! I think Chris' Mate will have his '33 done before I have my ''A'' done, SHAME on ME and GOOD on HIM!
Looks like a very challenging project - and the real satisfaction will come from the looks of amazement on the faces of those who didn't think it could ever be done! Go for it!

I can't understand what the fuss is about. There is no side on the body,so what?. Any metal man worthy of the name can make a panel to replace the missing side and roof. that bent roof on the other side only has a couple of creases. The rest is pretty good. I see a lot worse than that being bought back .once you get rid of the rusty bits it all looks clearer. I wish my roadster was that straight when i started.
No it's just that the rest of us in Spokane are hoarding all the decent 34 sedan bodies in our backyards. How many 34 sedan do you know of in your area? I can think of at least five bodies, not for sale, off the top of my head in the area. Besides we tend to hibernate in the garage during the winter months up here and need something to keep us from going stir crazy.
Dude... Please tell me your joking. There's at least 100 hours worth of work required to bring that body back up to the point that he can begin to build it. Anybody can hack metal Quite a few of us can weld it Some of us can make it look good But only a tiny handfull of the best can start with ~nothing~ and rebuild the missing side of a whole friggin car... And those guys get about $100/hour to do their magic. If you dis-agree, please show us your metal fabbing skills.
I'm not joking I'm deadly serious,heres what any panel beater can do. It ain't rocket science ,black magic or voodoo. It's just very basic metal work. Check pout last months tech contest and Johnny Ariels effort. He knew nothing about metal work before signing up on the metal meet site. Now he can bash tin with the best of them. Mercedes Gull wing built from scratch including the chromemoly Chassis. Nothing is impossible .
Jim Sibley could have fixed that using only a stick welder and a can opener, in the junkyard, and drove it home! Jim Sibley has the strength of 10 bodymen! Looks good though. Before seeing the passenger side, I thought "doesn't even look that bad". Firewall is nice, even had some floors left. Seeing the other side, yeah, that'll need some work. But certainly buildable if the door and quarter panel were obtainable.
Actually.,Jim Sibley probably passed up the car because it wasn`t enough of a challenge......plus his latest hobby involves on-the-road rearend removal, female student videographers and donuts on baseball fields......so he has less time than usual to save run-of-the-mill stuff......
UPDATE Tim has got most of the roof put on. New subrails next and then the quarter pannel. Should be shapping up soon!! I will keep updates coming
Long way to go but lookin good ! It reminds me of another basketcase , a 33 Bonneville 3 window I bought in Spokane at the swapmeet in 99 . It turned out nice and so will this one Im sure. One thing Ive learned over the years is there is ALOT of very nice cars in the Spokane area!
my 34 5 window was in sad shape also not quite as bad as yours but there really cool cars and are worth the effort good luck
Tim is an awesome guy,with an amazing amount of talent. He will have this thing looking ship-shape in no time. I've seen him do more difficult things.
