What can you tell us on the build. engine? trans? rearend? Very cool.I love seeing stuff like this. All I`m thinking about is a few kids in a old barn in the late 50s cutting and chopping.
This is a really well built car...I mean SOLID....no rust ever shit. Its gonna trip people out...whoever built this knew what they were doing. Not only the little cool touches...but hows its channeled, the gas tank, seats, roll bar, all is super solid.
It was listed on gasser madness.... Just a timing thing...The second owners widow called right back. She said she had just decided to try to sell it again...
I dont know how to "do the quote thing" so i ll try to answer questions as i go based on what is known. If I space, Ill get back to you.So far, I Know that its been sittting since around 64.Thanks for keeping in quiet HRP that was cool,Six pack, Indy must have had some good builders bc this is really well put together.JJ ya its crazy man how me this car is,this was luck. Ill get into more detail on the history later and post better pics as the week goes on. All these photos up till now are from this afternoon in my drive way. This car was hauled by a hambr racinman, Rick was on a haul from the west coast, was able to cruise north, grab this and drop in here in two days, haul with this guy he knows whats up.thanks man. Ill post some more pics that I was sent.
This car ws up for sale last year. I really liked it but couldn't swing what she wanted. I glad to see someone here got it.
Thanks bloddy...you guys have to come this way...whenever. I got those same pics...just the right time, like I said.
Real nice grab. Many many old time tricks built into this one. What's your plans for it, build it like it was or make some mods?
I do have some original pics, and I am about 90% on the story.Still it is unknown who built this car.Alot of the mods I believe to have been made by the second owner, his brother and friend. The second owner and his friend worked for Barris, after returing to Indy this car was finished. They also went on to build some pretty nices Kustoms... Il get more pics today, the inside is soooo detailed, S.W. gauges, mint garnish moldings, stained wood in the roof with a little light, bomber seat belts, its really a time capsule. There is so many little details around every corner its like they almost had every little book and picked some of the coolest touches known.
It still amazes me all the old hot rods that are being uncovered this week,,,your treasure is uncovered after 45 years,,,the chopped and channeled 32 5-window project car from 62. and my 32 5-window that has been under raps for 25 years!,,some old hot rods gonna be back on the streets again! I won't post my photo's on your thread but heres is my story. HRP http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=360793
Ya HRP...It amazes me as well.... There is ALOT of hotrods still tucked away in NICE, DRY garages all across the country. This is a real cool time its seems for finding cars.
Ya Bob its crazy.... Really well built...I know the guy worked at International Harvester. Its like a factory car, if that makes sense..... with all the clips and brackets...mixed with really cool hand crafted shit.
