Hey everyone I need some help... anyone know somebody that has a solid original deck lid ***embly or recommendation on repairing one on a 1933 5 window coupe. The inner structure is solid for the most part but the outer skin is rattled with holes. Also, hoods someone told me I have a 34 grill... should i keep it or get a 33 and how do the hoods differ. I would love to keep it all 33 but unfortunately this field find has a mixture of parts. Finally, I have a radiator for the flathead but got another radiator with it that has single spout on top and bottom but looks identical. If anybody could use it let me know! Thanks guys!!! Looks like you're off to a great start. Already chopped! Since you have a 34 grille, it takes a 34 hood. The hoods look similar but are way different. Around the filler opening, bead around the edge, shape around the grille edge, curved vs straight louvers, single vs double latches. If the single outlet radiator has the neck in the middle, it is 4 cylinder, and LOW production. I have a 33 if you have more ???'s. Or search, either here or on the Fordbarn. What parts are laying in the gr***?
Any new buyer of an early V8 era Ford should track down a copy of the V8 Affair book. It shows most all the differences of the years and will be a great help on your journey to Ford enlightenment. If you use a 34 hood on the 33 body you will need to modify the cowl sides for the latches. Not something a guy can explain online, you will be best to find somebody with a 34 cowl and make some templates of the holes. But a 34 hood will cost you a quarter what an original 33 hood will cost.

What's the story? Where and how'd you find it? How long has it been there? Any pictures of it in the field?
Haha I didn't want to say barn find and field is over exaggerating. The guy drove it for awhile, and then let it sit on his outdoor covered lift for years, eventually it got pushed outside and then sat for many more. The car has paperwork going back to 1938 and has pictures of it racing on Daytona beach. I have not received the pictures but I got the car and that's all the matter and if he locates the picture it's a added bonus. The pics below are when I found it covered with a tarp. I think I answered all your questions!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
What is actually wrong with the deck lid, looks usable from here. If the outside is rusted too bad to repair or patch but the structure is solid you can get a new skin for it. Be a good time to punch it before you put it on.
Just alot of rusted holes!! Probally just a new skin would work!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
There ya go. I don't think that they are real pricey. Remember the car is basically built, don't go overboard. Give it a chance to talk to ya, it'll tell you what is best and knows way better than we do.
