I would figure out a way to get a radiator and inserts in the headers so I could drive it to Sonic Drive-In on Saturday night!!!!!!
YES! there is the equivalent of a 2", 24" gl*** pack muffler in them. I made a sheet metal 'star' that sits on top of the collector. Attached to that are segments of perforated bullet muffler 2" and 3" inner pipes concentrically welded to the star. The space between the pipes is wrapped with gl*** pack fabric. The bottom of the collector has a donut sheet attached to the 5" collector with a 2" exhaust hole in the middle. Finally there are 4 vertical sheet metal dividers that seal the 3" pipe from the 5" collector yielding 4 radial chambers. The flow is into the collector, down two chambers between the 3" an d 5", hitting the bottom seal, back up the opposite two chambers between the 3" and 5" hitting the sealing wings of the star, then back down the 2" pipe to exit. The three 9" p***es equals an approximate 24" gl*** pack. I admit this is far from ideal if the car was to be raced but I have zero intention of ever racing it. I wanted a carnivorous looking cruiser that made a scary looking daily driver. In 30 years of driving my car I have never been challenged b y a rice burner! I didn't take photos during construction like I usually doo My bad. These sketches are guaranteed to confuse you!
Hey, drumyn29; I like the night-shot effect w/the shadows, looking like 3 thin fogged racing stripes, fogged over the w/s & top. Neat... Marcus...
