What 34 doors interchange? Specifically sedan and 5 window coupe.

Also any link to the sedan to coupe conversion posted awhile back. Car was out of Europe if memory serves.

Oh and yes I have used the search function...for hours.

There isn't an interchange between them.
Sedan and 5 window coupe are different. 3 window is different again.
5 window and 4 dr. sedan are the closest match but you will still be cutting to match.

  4. I know of a couple of five window coupes with four door sedan doors on them, the top corners were a bit differant and the hinges are in a differant spot on the jamb. They needed a bit of tweekin but worked. I wish I would have taken pics.

You can make 4 door sedan front doors fit a five window coupe but it is a lot of work. A friend and I did it recently on his 34 5 window. You need a full set of coupe hinges. Remove the four door hinges (difficult because it requires breaking the rivets and a number of spot welds) and insert screws in the rivet holes to attach the coupe hinges to the sedan doors. From what I have seen, the shape of the coupe door hinge is different than the sedan door, and that is why they are not interchangeable. The second modification required is to section about an inch out of the rear top portion of the door, just under the top hinge. That will allow you to bring the door hinge location into alignment with the b pillar. It will also allow the sedan door to fit the coupe body, as the sedan door is one inch taller at the rear. Hope this helps, it is a lot of work but it is possible.
