Picked this up on eBay this week. Nice match to the ammeter. Need to test it to make sure it will work, but for 19 bux I couldn't pass it up. Nice and distressed. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
May take it for a drive in the rain tomorrow to wash off some more dust. Then I need to tear apart the rear end and clean that up. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Well, the SW gauge turned out to be a 12V gauge, so I took the guts out of my '47 6V unit and modified it to fit the SW housing. Not bad, but I think I'll keep looking for a SW 6V unit and sell this one. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Got the rear spring out. Banjo and driveshaft next. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Side to side play is correct, it allows for any inaccuracies between the driveshaft and trans output shaft alignment. Rotational free play is what is important, as long as it does not appear worn, no ovality etc., it should be ok. It looks to be in good condition. Put the trans in top gear and rotate the joint, (like you were), look for free play in all 4 bushes, one by one. If they all look good like the one I could see in the video, it should be capable of further useful service. Mart.
Thanks, Mart! I'll do that. I've started cleaning up the rear suspension as well... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got my gauge pod done. I'm not sure I'm completely happy with this but I can always fab another Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

Thanks, Craig! I just hope I can get this beast back together before the weather turns nice. Work is going to get really busy as we head into spring, and I'm going to be traveling a TON.
Working on reversing my rear main leaf. Slow going, but probably best in the end. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
For the first half of the bend, nothing. When I started the second half of the bend I realized that the top of the bottle jack would contact the spring in two places, so I taped a dowel pin to the top. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Go easy near the centre hole. I was doing well on my 33 spring until it broke when I was working the area near the hole. Mart.
Got the rear end back in today. What a beatch getting that square bolt head back in the crossmember hole. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got some more done this weekend. Fuel tank is back in. Got the sender and fuel gauge installed. Starting to route the fuel line. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Got more wiring and fuel line routing done. Still waiting for my Carter fuel pump. Once I have that I can test everything before I put the bed back on. I also fabbed some sheet metal to repair a mounting flange on the bed. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
