Thanks, Rich. I'm working on getting it back on the road now. I'm gonna drive the crap out of it when I do. I'd love to have a belly tank flats car towing behind this!
That's my plan. Since the motor isn't original, I don't mind hopping it up but keeping it hidden. I've already got the heads (Sharp), but looking for a 2X2 intake (vintage). Add a cam and I should be good to go...
WARNING! WARNING! I put powder coated wheels with white walls on mine, stood back and looked. Decided I either had to build it like Lynn Pew would or leave it alone. So I pulled the wheels for now.....I have to say that wheel looks good though. Thanks for all the pics and updates Jeff, everyday I check to see whats new.
I like the tire stagger on that truck. Is it yours? If so, what tires are you running? I'm buying tires this week and having trouble making up my mind.
Thanks for the replies. I'm still not decided. I was thinking 6.00X16 front and 7.50X16 rear, but worried that the 7.5's would be too tall. I think I need to make some measurements...I'll try to PS something up with my options and then I can decide...
Ooooooo, I like that. So clearly even 8.2's aren't too tall in the rear. Grrrrr...even more options [emoji3]
Up-date the brakes---Sharp heads---3/4 cam--dual carbs---take side boards off and run a single board--save old boards good wash job---dont worry about rust---DRIVE THE PISS OUT OF IT--Super cool find --In the end do with the truck as you want ITS YOURS--Great looking truck enjoy
O.K. I need some help here. My wheels are 16", 4" bead to bead. What size tires will fit these wheels? Some of the information I've found says my options are very limited. Is it true that with 7.50's on the back, they'll just be a bit more "balloon" like???
I have the same rims with 7.00 on the rears and 5.50 on the fronts. As far as I know, 7.50 will fit as well.
My wife's uncle gave me this last week. I won't use it on the PU but it will make a nice paperweight [emoji3]
Jon, I posted the pics on my shutterfly account to avoid posting all those boring snaps on this thread...Please let me know if you can access the pics... https://1934cabpics.shutterfly.com/
Yeah, but it's not going on my truck... Looking for a vintage 2X2 Stromberg setup with standard generator location for this rig. What else can I do with it???
The "radiator cowl" is called a grille shell. Or maybe just a grille since a '34 has the grille and shell as one piece.
looks like the truck a buddy pulled out of the barn a few years ago, only his was a 32, original paint and pinstripe just like that one. brought it to a hack to build a HOT ROD out of and all he used were the rails, the cab and the grille. the owner was throwing things away that came off the truck and asked me if I wanted them to sell on ebay, $700.00 later he decided he would rather I sell the parts for him and take a percentage. I told him if he finds a cat turd under the seat we will list it on ebay, because 32 people are crazy. I don't think it ever got finished. it was a complete original truck that basically just disappeared.
Please don't be a fool, that's a pen/pencil holder! And don't clear or sand on the paint, it's beautiful as is.
