I am working on my jig and I don't have a good frame to use as a guide. I need the C/l measurement from the front bumper bracket hole to the rear bumper bracket hole. This would be the first hole in the front and the last hole in the rear. I am coming up with 148 3/4" center to center. If you have a good frame and could measure it I would appreciate your efforts.

The front hole is as shown.

The rear hole is shown above. Wescott's doesn't provide the dimensions for this distance. I get 148 3/4.

Is the Wescott diagram of any help at all. It doesn't have the bumper bracket holes marked
Edit: Well, guess it would help if I had read the caption under the photo!!!!!

Thanks, I am at least close. The rails should be here next week. Anyone else have some measurements?

  6. We picked up a bare 34 frame last year. Looks like we have 149- 1/4" MOL on ours.

Ok, after being stupid I went out and measured mine. I get 149. There is a slight angle involved here as the rear is wider than the front. I would think the 148 7/8 is fairly close. If you need it closer I could lay it out on the floor so it is measured 90 degrees to the C/L of the frame.

I imagined a lot of different dimensions but it seems the 149 +/- is very close. I am using ASC rails in my jig so I can wait to weld the uprights once I get the rails in place and spread per the Wescott drawing. Thanks for all your help as I just tacked the pieces so far. I built my last one and made a mistake and ended up about a 1/2" off on the rear horns so I am being real careful about making this new jig accurate. "Measure twice and cut once" !

Thanks, that is close enough for me. I will use the rails as the final placement of the jig uprights.

I made new ones and they will be the same color. Medium Cabernet Red. The old ones are long gone.
