Greetings! I though I would share some lousy cell phone pics of our 1934 ford 3w coupe. The car has been owned by my family for the past 50 years! My Father first purchased it when he was 18..He is 68 now. In the 60s this was primarily a race car, being towed with a tow bar behind his 1963 409 Impala! In the 70s it was converted to street use, hence the true spoke wires..luckily it still has 95% of its 60s charm including an original sw tach on the dash!. Recent additions have been made for driveability and safety, such a modern dropped axle with parallel links and camaro disks. It is 100% henry steel, unchopped, with a chevy 348 with 3 deuces. Future plans include a complete rewiring, 4 link rear suspension with a buggy spring, a slightly less dropped front axle, tall tire with steelies (no caps) and interior upgrades. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated!
chrome deluxe garnish mouldings & everything. man that is a cooool machine. thats a BIG no on the less of a dropped front axle. get it in the weeds.
Holy **** that thing is rad!!!! I normally don't like spoke wheels and **** but with those pin wall tires they look pretty cool! I think you plan for Steelies will make it all the better and I can totally see this thing circa 1964! What color wheels are you going to go with..... you really can't go wrong with any color. White, Black, Blue, Red, Chrome!!!! But how could you with a 348 tri carb motor sitting between the rails.
Nice your family has kept it all these years. My Dad sold the 39 Ford Convertible he had when he was young for $50 but kept the 39 Moline tractor till he died, that was his priority.
Is that car from the Ottawa area? Looks like one I followed down Hunt Club road a few years ago when I lived there.
Neat coupe! Here's your twin...it had wires on it too. http://www.mershons.com/view_photo.asp?ID=6582&image=Exterior I'm lusting after this car. I've been mentally re-doing it: Black steelies, medium whitewalls Cheaterslicks Get rid of the dog, horns, add hot rod headlights Remove the bumpers and add some vintage nerfs Vintage valve covers air cleaner Change the column
It is great that the car is still in the family... Get a bunch of pictures of your Dad with the car..... enjoy the time you get to spend with him.... I still have my Dads 33 pickup that he got in 1953.... wish I still had Dad here with it.
Thanks everyone for the comments and compliments. HotRod33 and Metalman, sorry to hear about your fathers, I will be taking HotRod33s advice.. I am pretty much sold on chromed steelies with cheaters slicks!
I think that he is from 100 Mile House in BC, I remember that car. We went on a rod run up to see "The Medicine Man" (Jim Taylor), and we ran into that car with his Dad in it. I have had a dream of a 34 3wnd ever since, but I guess I will have to settle for my 32s instead Kelly
