I am getting a deal on a whole bunch of matching 1934 liscense plates, and i was seeing how many people would want a pair before I went of and bought a whole mess of them.

I was gonna ask $150 depending on the condition.

let me know if you think that these are over priced, also the price will depend on condition, but will not exceed $150

when I have them forsale I will put them in the forsale section, but I was just trying to get a start on how many i should buy.

    thanks,
    zach

    Are they California plates ???????

  3. Make sure they are clear in the DMV if Ca plates, or they are just showpieces, and not worth alot.

Ca re-used early number sequences for other vehicles, like trucks and motorcycles.

Dont take in the plates, just the #'s on a piece of paper.

I guess it depends on what you are paying for them, too.

  4. a guy at the swaps "found" a **** load of 32 and 34 i think......i've never seen so many in one place before. like said above make sure they're clean before you buy them.

i have a collection of illinois license plates that my dad started for me before i was born. i have from 1932 all the way up to 1979 (which is when the sticker thing started in illinois.) i have 1 set of plates from each year and the majority of them are from the same owner.(my dads neighbor at the time) from 1932 all the way up until about 1968. my dad started adding his plates from 69-79. the really cool ones are from the 40's during war time. they are made out of a soybean / cardboard material. 98% of my plates are in very good condition...my war time plates are perfect.
i have no idea what they would be worth to someone...but since this collection was started for me before i was born, i'll probably never get rid of them. i was born in 69 by the way....it was a great year.

If you want to know what people are willing to pay for 1934 plates just check out Ebay. Many don't even get bids.:) :D

The older plates do well in certain states FL, CA, TX seem to get pretty good bids on 32, 34, 40 plates and some reasonbly good bids on 28-31 bids.

If they're matching CA pairs & DMV clean, they should bring some pretty good dosh I would imagine...but I don't really follow CA plates that much...
