I bought a set of 34 shocks for my truck ; 2 of the shocks have the square male post coming out of the body that the arms attach to, and the other pair have a "splined" shaft / arm ***embly that I have no ides how to remove the arms from the splined shafts. Can anyone here help me through this one. Thanks, Steve
You will need a split puller and a press. Best just to find the right shocks that use the square end 34 arms.
These shocks came off of a LOW MILEAGE 34 sedan, had never been off and totally original to this car.... What am I missing here ?
http://www.oldcarmanualproject.com/manuals/Ford/Haudaille/index.html I guess you are right, some Model 40’s had the splined shocks according to this old manual. But, I do know the previous version with the square shaft is much easier to remove the arms.
Contact Andy. He rebuilds them.He can tell you what's involved to get the arms off. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...ysshoxs.com/&usg=AOvVaw226D3JWwYmdzwtoiYHpEkB
