So I’ve taken all the nuts off the bolts that hold the body to the frame of my 1935 3 window and I can’t get the body off the frame…..it’s like stuck on there….any suggestions or tricks? Thanks, Jeff
You say you,ve taken all the nuts off the bolts but have you tried knocking out all the bolts? There,s probably a build up of rust on any that may be still in place. I think I would also remove the running boards, you might be surprised at how much extra light and view of the ch***is you get with those removed. (Ask me how I know lol)
Why do the steering wheel and upper column look like they are still in their original factory position ? As in still bolted to the underside of the dash . BTW, nice body.
When i removed my 36 body, the factory pad strips between the frame and body were obviously stuck like glue holding the body to the frame. If ALL your hardware is removed including the wiring, i'll bet thats what it is.
I would guess you missed a bolt on each side. Take a pry bar between the frame and body and try on each corner to see if it lifts a bit. They do stick a bit. So you might not be able to lift an end at once.
As 1936-5w pointed out the webbing between the frame and the body is likely to be stuck to each side. Put a 2X4 under the body and gently jack it up a bit, then slide a s****er in between the body and the frame and run it along to make sure you haven't missed a bolt and the webbing isn't causing it to stick.
If 35 and 36 are anything like 33/34 there are bolts inside the frame rails that bolt to the body.. It is a carriage head bolt at the bottom of the door pillar...
Good point and yes they are similar. My recollection is that there might also be some in the box on the outside of the rail, just behind the door. Chris
