Hot Rods 1935 Ford delivery

Fender aprons, They have a groove at the top for side panel to, I think close onto the groove. But there is also a couple of rubber bumpers ( 2 ) that I think sit in that groove, so the grill would rest against them and not in the groove. Trying to line up hood, apron, grill . Is the bottom of groove even with the fender or slightly above it . This is not a sedan delivery .
