OK I SNAPPED THIS PHOTO USING A REAL CAMERA, SO I DO ALOT OF STARING AT MY CAR FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES AND EVEN PULL UP PICS AND JUST STARE AT IT LOOKING AT THE LINES TO SEE IF I LIKE THEM OR FEEL THEY NEED IMPROVEMENT. IN THIS PIC I FEEL THE FRONT OF THE ROOF LOOKS LOWER THEN THE REAR. THIS IS REALLY BOTHERING ME AND PROBABLY GONNA CUT IT BACK UP AND FIX THIS. I DONT LIKE THE B-PILLAR LOOKING TALLER THEN THE REST OF THE ROOF EITHER. WHEN I MEASURE IT OUT THE REAR IS LOWER BUT TO THE EYE THE FRONT LOOKS LOWER. NEED TO FIGURE THIS OUT BEFORE BODYWORK AND PAINT, THEN IT WILL BE TO LATE.

  5. I would take a picture with less crap and conflicting horizontal lines behind the car to get a true idea of how it looks without stuff to distract or fool the eye. Great couple of cars in this post byt the way.

Wow looks great and clear for once hahaha!! I can sort of see what your saying but it might be your eye tricking you because the angle that the car sits. When traveling from back to front the the bottom of the window travels up creating and wedge which starts to look like a Hot Rod chop instead of flowing back like it's growing out of the earth. It's weird because if I put my finger on the B-piller an look at the rest of the car it looks perfect. The chop flows right and is a perfect amount too. But when I remove the finger (from the screen) it takes on a whole other look. Neither is bad.

Perhaps slimming the b piller vertically would do the trick and make the the front side windows appear longer. Man Skoty, This thing looks so rad right now I would be really sketchy about changing it. But that might be because I don't have a talent for building cars. I like the wheel covers by the way!!! Keep at it and don't settle until YOU think it's perfect!

  7. Yeah! What JJ said! Slim the B pillar---it's thicker than the A pillar---makes it look....just...I dunno, wrong? That's just my two cents(like you really asked for MY opinion:eek:) I really like yer car, man

  8. JJ beat me to it, I think the roof is looking higher for two reasons: 1-the rear of the car is lower, 2- the signs and shelfs on the wall throw it off. The car looks awesome!

Normally it bugs me when a taildragger has a hot rod chop (where the roof rakes forward) instead of sloping rearward, but for some reason, on your car, that never stuck out at me as wrong. I think the lines work really well and also makes it alittle more unique which is part of what I really like about it.

But on the other hand, I know what you mean when you say you sit around and critique the lines all the time because I do the same. And if I don't cut it back apart and change that which sticks out as wrong, it is the only thing I can see when I look at it. That's why I'm still working on it years later. It is a sickness, but hey, the first step to recovery is to recognize you have a problem.

I think im gonna photoshop it and see if that helps at all. The rear quarter window you see in this pic i reshaped and stretched it cause i didnt want a super small quarter window, im wondering if that has something to do with it. I did the thumb over the b-pillar and it does look better.

Man you know exactly whats going threw my head. Ill be working on a customers car and look over and all i see is the lines that bother me or things i dont like. When i chopped it i did a 2" all around because i didnt think this car would look correct with a slanted roof. Ive seen a 35-36 done like that and felt it was the wrong kind of chop for the car. At some point i did think about doing maybe a half inch or so more in the rear but i didnt want the drip rail line not to follow any other lines of the car. I feel the lines of the car and everything else keeping a relatonship is a huge deal. I really do appreciate you guys taking time from your day to post or check out my thread and help me with some stuff. Its good to see how other people view it, more eyes are better then 2. Thanks alot again guys. The h.a.m.b rocks!

the car is looking great. wow.

with a tail drag stance, i think the rear of the roof needs to come down a bit. i think that'll help the transition to the trunk angles.

not sure if the photo is showing something from behind on front of the b-pillar-- but i agree that it should be about the same thickness as the a-pillar.

also the photo makes the top right corner of the rear side window look a bit strange (odd shaped compared to rest of window)-- i think it's pic related though.

    just my useless .02,,,

im gonna pull the car out and take a pic to keep things in the background from distracting the eye. ive noticed this also when the car was outside etc. im gonna play around with photoshop at a little bit and see what i can do. if i have to recut the whole roof to make it right i will.
