Ok, what do you guys think of this, should i get the car running and driving put it in primer and try to get it running and take it to a few shows? Or keep pushing along till its done? I do want to do a shake down drive before i blast it apart and paint everything. Im thinking about making it to a few shows we have coming up and work on it while im taking it to these shows until its ready to be painted. At the same time id like to come out with a finished product. Well hope you guys can help me decide.
All you have a blessed friday.

I think you should get it in primer and drive it to a few shows....perhaps all summer long and blast it apart next fall for the GNRS debut. You'll probably never have as much fun with the car as it is when it's in primer. After that it'll be so nice you'll worry about it.

I think if you give it a full summer shakedown you can familiarize yourself with the car completely and know what to change if anything at all by the time GNRS comes. Shit, that thing in primer is going to blow minds.....and then it'll do it again once it's in a nice coat of shiny paint next winter!!!

I agree - best to live with it for a bit and make sure you have everything sorted just the way you like. The upside is that you get to rip around with no worries about dings and such and can make some final changes before it's too late. The downside is that it has less impact (to narrow minded people) than coming out with a finished car.

Skoty, I'm with these guys, prime it and get out there and enjoy it.
The WOW factor of your car will be drop dead in primer, then the shiny stuff will just put the icing on the cake for another WOW!

I had a ball with mine in primer the first year and never worried for a second about chips, dings or dents. I built mine to be a driver so I'm still not too worried with it shiny, but it was a different feel in primer.

Either way you've built an awesome car...thanks for sharring all the updates!

Thanks alot guys, i really appreciate everybodies compliments. You guys are rad and do inspire me to get my car done. I really appreciate everybody helping me with certain things. I ordered just about everything to get this thing running and driving so i guess its green light for a few shows this year. I would very much like to debut this car at the gnrs next year. Thanks again guys.

Whos going to sac autorama? Im excited to go.

can't wait to see this thing skoty. it will be a total knockout. if it were me, i would primer it and drive it around a while. that's only because i am impatient and would want to drive it as soon as possible. then when the honeymoon wears off, have it painted and when you get it back, it will be like a brand new car all over again and twice as nice.

either way, that car will be a stunner. can't wait to see it painted.

The car is looking great! I had a chance to check it out at goodguys ( I helped you guys get your easy up, up) show this year and the metal work is top notch.

I say get it running but leave it as much bare metal as you can. Anyone can pile on bondo and spray primmer on but not a lot of guys can get the metal looking as nice as you have. If you prime it, who's to say it is not another bondo build, show what you have until you are ready for final paint!

I am planning on heading over for the show. I live right down the road in Winters so it is only a 25 min drive.

Man, Skoty. I just saw this and read every page, don't know how I missed it. Your Plymouth is looking great. I've had this similar build in my mind for a while now. Glad you brought my dream to fruition. Being down here in Louisiana, we have no cool old cars like you do in Cali. It will rival any other taildragger I've ever seen. I will continue to watch this build and will make arrangements to be at the debut. Steven.
