This is what I really want. This is 1935 5 window Plymouth. I think I will buy the sedan as I already own an Oldsmobile 5 window. (not nearly done). I will keep you all posted.

What's the "standard mopar passenger side offset' about? How exactly does it help putting in a 360/727 combo?

If you retain the stock front fram clip, and leave the steering box located in its factory position, clearence for exhaust manifolds and headers is tenuous. The simple expedient of moving the engine 1 or 2 inches toward the passenger side of the car makes clearence less of an issue. When all is said and done it is hardly noticable, and easier than trying to modify the steering.

1936 Plymouth is real close a small chevy is tight fit with no mods to firewall. So 318/360 should fit fine. I do not think a big block will with the hood. I do have 1936 Plymouth and yes it does I know I know it has a small block Chevy. If interested I can send pictures.

Now comes the hard part. Negotiating the price. It is complete. He has the bumpers. It drives and the interior is original and looks pretty good. Can anyone give me an idead of a fair price. The body has no rust and has one very minor dent.
    Is $4000 the right price????

I have owned my 1935 Ply. coupe since 1974. love it Go with sbc. it will just fit without cutting anything with carefull placement locating motor mounts. Mine has rectangular tubing to old style side mt.and some gussets. Good luck making a 360 fit. Who needs that much grief.

  8. Groan:rolleyes:, I get the small block chevy, who doesn't like cheap and easy. But, the world needs more MOPAR guy's. Oh yell, more for me. Cool Plymouth though. You'll love having a big car, you can only get, what about 5 or 6 girls in a 5 window? :D

$4000.00 sounds like a pretty good price if its all there and its a runner, I would rather see you keep the stock engine, than put a SBC in it :( just my 2 cents. Ron...

  10. 35' and 36' look similar but body dimensions are totally different. i have 36' plymouths(since 76') and found out the difference after buying a parts car. motor swapped out.

  11. A mopar v8 is narrower than a chevy but a little longer because of its timing cover. The mopar will probably fit better than the chevy.

I would drop in a 340/360, 904 and drive the snot out of it.
