I have a line on a 36 chevy Pickup project for cheap the more I'm looking into it. It appears to be a tall cab with a square back window. I can't seem to find any pictures of the tall cab seems everyone has the low cab. If anyone can help with pictures of the low cab stock and chopped. I'm not sure I can like the tall cab show me some cool tall cabs. Thanks
Possibly, I'm just going off what the guy told me. Looks like in the middle of 1936 they started making the low cab & switched from the tall cab.
Chevrolet made a tall cab and a low cab in 36. The tall cab looks like a 35. The 36 low cab is similar to the 37 & 38 cab.
It may be the early 36 cab.I have one of those. The early cab looks like a 34-35,as previously mentioned.the Early 36 had metal reinforced doors instead of wood like the 35 has,and it is the only high cab with a glove compartment in the dash. The windshield frame is unique too if I remember correctly.
anyone have some picks of the tall cab with a chop, droped, fenders or fenderless please give me some ideas. Also this truck has mustang front end. Would it look dumb to run it fenderless?
YES!!! it will look dumb fenderless with the mustang front end. just my opinion. the early 36 had more of a squared off roof, and the later ones were more rounded. and in 37 they looked exactly the same except there is a 2" difference in the windshield. doors stayed the same.
All a matter of opinion. My opinion is all pickup trucks look dumb when they are fenderless.Coupes and roadsters, now that is different......
I got a 36 low cab a new 355 sbc a ford 9" loaded and the other parts I need to build a sweet little rod. I work in a recycling yard we get about 20-30 cars a day through there. But if anyone has any good suggestions I would like to here them. I do want to chop the top and make it suicide doors, I'm using the front half of a 34 ford frame boxed of course and cut right behind the cab then using 2x4 going up and over the axle. I wanted to just go with a single spring suspension on the rear end and I'm not sure if I want to use a truck box to hide everything or just leave it open I've got a mustang R/P I wanted to use for my steering. Also wanted to go with wide slicks on the rear not a narrow tire. So anyone got any DONTS for me please let me hear them.. Thanx
Here's my '34 that I recently got on the road. It's not done, but it is dumb, ha! Sent from my iPhone using TJJ sucka!
I think after following along with your build. Your truck looks well educated. Here is a pic of my 36 low cab that I used to own.
355 Gustin this one had cross spring under it but used the Chevy frame with a model A style crossmember. It was for sale at a swap meet I went to earlier in the month. There were several things that need attention though. It had bat wings welded to the Chevy axle to run the cross spring and radius rods and that was a bit suspect. Plus the obvious broken in the middle look with the bed not lining up with the cab.
Here's a '36 High Cab I fabricated for a customer. Only original Chevy sheetmetal is the cowl and frontal panels.
To: 35 Master. Please give me an call on the 1936 tall cab truck you have posted. Name Jack Cell 412.292.5885
For the sake of comparison, here's the '35 tall cab I used to have. It came from WA too. Must be a lot of these trucks up there!
