IMO, the 36 Ford is an attactive platform to start with. While there are many that are fully customized, and look very good, sometimes there seems to be a focus on changing them. There are some really sharp ones that are close to resto-rod that really look good with the less-is-more thought.

Django has a nice one. I also really like this one, owned by Alex Idzardi.

Always admired that car. But what are those wheels? At first I thought Plymouth artillery, but then I kinda thought early 80's Monte Carlo:p, I know that can't be right! lol

Thank Kookee. They are actually late 80s Ford Ranger wheels and we run them on both coupes.

My Dad and I are right there with you on the "need" to modify the '36s. They're so gorgeous in stock form. Should we luck into a second 3 window someday, it would definitely be unchopped. I realize that is easy to say when we already have a chopped one! :D It would probably end up looking alot like Axle's.

Damn... I wouldn't be able to change the Norwegian Blacksmith's coupe if I bought it. It's perfect the way it is... Maybe put some '52 caddy hubcaps on it? If you really want to change things up put a '37ish Lincoln Zephyr dash in it.

That's why I love 5w's compared to 3w's. I really have not the slightest urge to cut the roof on my '35. I don't think they look nearly as good when they are chopped but when it comes to 3w's I could go either way. The 5w is just so much rigid in it's projected design. Lower it, add some nice tires, make it sound good and you're done!!!

If I had a 3w I am sure that it would start off simple but would probably evolve into something way over my head. I would want a Early custom probably in not something like McKinley's White '36.
