With about 15-20 hours in this I finally got it done... hand sewing pretty much the whole thing. Not perfect but proud of what I’ve accomplished. Fits pretty snug and is a good feel on the hands. If you’ve ever had a steering wheel with the stitching like this one it’s a good feeling. My daily has it and I love the feel. With plenty of room for the horn and steering shaft I think it has been a good piece. Same material to match the seat. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.

When I say a lot went into this, I mean a looootttt went into this. A lot of measuring and remeasuring, making templates and adjusting, from paper to cardboard to actual wood. Now I be a good basis for the top headliner to be attached to. It’s good to see it come together more and more. Have a few more pieces of wood to make such as the back panel and pieces above the doors, but over all making good progress Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.

Hey thanks for checking in! It’s been quite cold with each week being around 10-25°. this week we caught a break with a lot of 45° days but I got busy this week. I would say expect some stuff coming up this week as it really starts to get warmer we’re hoping. Getting the generator pulley worked out, the fuel pump rebuilt, and moving the windshield wiper motor so the seat can go all the way back, if I can get a lot of the headliner done next month as well that would be awesome. Not a bunch done today other than looking into the gauges and the window parts. Realizing a lot of small pieces are missing and not knowing how the handle works. I’ll have to find a diagram because it’s all over the place. Hopefully can figure out what I need to buy to reassemble this without missing things or buying the wrong things. Most importantly I got the back window trim piece all covered in filler so I can sand it later and really get those small imperfections out. Sounds good! Our truck were working on was my bosses dad's truck. He had a hauling company back in the day. The truck had a dump bed and hoist on it. We took off the hoist in favor of a fixed bed. We're a long way behind you yet tho. Keep up the great work!
Hey you too! Cool story behind yours, I don’t know the uses of mine back in the day other than my dad bought it for $500 back in his 20s and he’s 64 now. Did you ever get rid of the dump bed hoist? Just curious because my transmission has a PTO and maybe one day I’d like to set up a hoist. Even if you have pictures I can look at would be amazing, best of luck on your project! Brake and equipment warehouse in mpls will reline your old brake shoes. prolly others too, google it up

Did some research and found a lot of people like the kits from this website. Anyone use them? I found this one and I’m pondering it Also as I do this I thought this related and was worth posting Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Here are the pictures of the hoist. The top "T" bar pivots with a cable and pulls on each side. The "T" bar goes up and down with the bed as the cylinder raises and lowers. Its been in the gravel for a few years, so sorry for the froze gravel on it. It's definitely not light!
