Simply I just don’t know anything about electrical and don’t know what I’m looking at when it comes to harnesses already marked for a year of truck. I can look into it more which I will but for now I can’t look up a 36’ Ford Flathead wiring harness and be for certain it will work for what I need it to. That’s the only reason really. Just a mock up from old sheets and I’ll use these as templates. Everything came out really well and good I only have to make 3 stitches. This should be a fun process. Stressful if it doesn’t go in right but I should be okay Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Needed to make this trim piece just like those around the doors. Not the prettiest piece yet but I have it made up and I’ll weld it next and shape it more to make it more appealing hopefully. This ensures the headliner has a place to fasten to in the front by the headboard, previously I had nothing there at all. Some final things left is to finish this piece, do some body work to the headboard and the dash, then get the paint. I have Thursday off so potentially I can get the interior and trim paint then. Something that is a little off the road of my project but still very important to me. I’ve noticed that through my years of restoration I really believe I love to do this type of work and would love to make a career out of it. Since I was 13 I worked on mopeds until now I’m 18 and have many many other projects I’ve gotten to do. Recently I’ve applied to McPhearson College in KS for their Bachelor degree program in Automotive Restoration Technology. This is the only college in the nation to offer a bachelor degree in this field. I’ve been accepted to the college and recently sent in my portfolio, resume, and statement of intent for acceptance into the program. That is great man! As a middle aged man who has had some success (I guess, depending how you measure it), I'd say it doesn't even matter if they accept you. If you want to do it, by God, come hell or high water, nothing will stop you. Don't let anyone or anything get in your way, and you'll become whatever you want to. Good luck bro.

I started and almost finished the headliner this evening. I didn’t get to putting the back window in yet, the trim above the headboard, and I ran out of upholstery nails for the back. I do have to say I am quite unpleased with how the nails went in as it’s not straight and they aren’t spaced well. Any tips or tricks to putting these in and having them look very clean? I can most definitely re-do this section and most likely will when the project is closer to an end and I can go back. Any advice will be appreciated since I don’t like as it stands and would like a better look. The last photo really shows how uneven the upholstery nails are and somehow I lost tension and it even just has some creases. Quite sloppy in my opinion and I know it can be done better but need some tips as to how to get the nails going in evenly spaced and well lined up. Thanks, Chris. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Corrections were made and it looks much better. I spread out the pins more with an inch gap and marked a line to try and follow, it’s the best I can do at least for now. I’ll work on getting the front fastened next as well as the back window and trim Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Headliner is done and installed with exception to rear window trim and window. For a first time not too shabby. Things I don’t like which are understandable for my skill levels is my ability to ge the nails lined up perfect, and the front corners and getting the fabric to cover everything without wanting to crease. I think it looks pretty good now that you straightened it out a bit. Heck, you will be looking out the windshield when driving, not up at the roof...I hope !
Can anyone confirm or deny if the H.A.M.B. app got shut down?? I haven’t been able to get on in days and it’s off the App Store. Anyways here’s an update to the truck. Trying to wrap up some interior stuff. Got the window put in and I’ll just have to wait for a mechanism to push it in and out because it hasn’t been anywhere. I just decided to****emble it without and I can always just take it back apart. Dash is in, front window, glove box, throttle pedal, choke rod, shifter, and passenger headlight.
Got a lot of parts today and hope to really start*****oning some things up. Here the headlights are installed with new Halogen light conversation.
Cleaned up the truck today for my graduation party, it was a fun day. A man brought his Austin Healey and took much interest into my project. It was so amazing to see so many people interested in the build and take interest into the work. Makes me more and more fired up to complete this project! Hot day at 90° with insane humidity but good graduation party turn out.
