If anybody could help me out it would be great! I need the inside width between the a-pillars,and also the b-pillars. Also how wide is the gap between the outside lower cowl bottom bead and the front fender cutaway it sits in? Thanks-nate
If anybody else has body measurement questions please use this thread ...hopefully we can get a good reference thread going!

To clarify- I need the distance between the b pillars at the base of the floors inside , and the same with the a pillars, and it would help having the measurement from the face of the pillars to their respective mounting holes in the frame/subrails....
    Thanks- nate

Bump to the top...I need these measurements also. Anybody? I know there are a lot of 35/36 coupe owners here, please help. Thanks in advance!

  6. Width of 'A' pillars on my 5w is 41". Distance to adjacent mounting bolt is 1 3/4".

    'B' pillars= 51". Bolt= 1 1/2".

  7. Mine is 42" at the "A" pillar, inside to inside, 2" below the door check strap due to trans. tunnel
53" on the B pillar, inside to inside, 12" up from the floor, due to the seat frame.
The cowl bead to fender reveal is a little tough to measure, as the reveal starts about 1/2 way up the cowl bead at the front and swoops down and in, ending up just below the cowl bead at the A pillar. I have approximately 1/8-3/16" gap at its closest, at the front of the bead.
A&B pillar measurements are without any upholstery, metal to metal.

36 Rokit,Duncan, thank you very much! I am piecing together the "remains" of a 5 window that someone had cut into sections with a TORCH....why they did it i will never know, but it was the only way that i could afford my dream car.I will try to post pics as i make progress. Thanks again guys.

  9. You're welcome, Jim; hope our "differing" measurements are of some help. As Duncan
points out, these pillars are curved as they meet the floor pans and may not be "exactly-
    exact"!
I don't envy you having to start out with puzzle pieces for a body, but its a reflection of
just how rare good project bodies are getting these days. Best of luck with your project.

Glad this post took off! Thanks! If anybody else needs reference measurements for other areas of 35-36 fords lets put them here. It will be a good search tool the more info we get.

  11. Nate, my doaner body is rotten on the bottom of the B pillars so I am not sure how accurate it is...Let me know if there is a specific I can measure.

Heyitsnate you are welcome to drive to my shop in maple valley, & take measurements off of my 5 window with the roof cut off I braced it well before cutting so from the window ledge down it is all in tact & doors are off so its easy to measure.
