Projects 1936 ford pickup project

Idea behind this build is to make a safe and reliable pickup to have fun with. That way I can take my time on the body and paint on my 49 chevy.

 

Pulled the broken flathead out.. and then the rest of the running gear.

 

Using a 153 ci chevy engine with an s10 5 sp. And s10 rearend

 

Bought ch***is engineering wishbone splitting kit and parallel leave spring kit.

 

Found a 4 inch drop axle with 40 ford brakes on it already

 

Mocking up the 4 banger

 

Picked up these wheel adapters and drum covers from highway 101 rod and custom

 

Sent the frame and wheels out for blast and powder coat.

 

Great project. Love those years. That removed flathead looks to be in better condition than the banger.
That banger will have more power than the flatty.

Yeah... looks like it... but broken in a couple spots.

 

About to work on a '35 pickup. Was it difficult installing the parallel leaf springs in the rear? Just curios as trying to decide if I am going to stay with transverse rear or parallel springs. Did you install the stabilizer as well?

What a great little truck. Keep posting as I am curios how this turns out. Ought to get great mileage.

 

I like a different engine choice. Makes things interesting. Love these trucks.

 

Ch***is engineering kit made it pretty easy. Pretty much a bolt on. No, have not done a sway bar in the back. I may. I'll drive it for a while to see what at***ude it has.

Haha, no paint for the outside of this one... it's almost perfect! Due for a couple changes, but paint is not one of them

 

cool, here's a factory 37 flatbed I had a few years back, thot about puttin it back on the road updated but lookin pretty much as is,...but ended up tradin it for another truck plus cash...
