Technical 1936 Ford seat

Guys:
Looking for ideas to make the bench seat in my 36 3 window more comfortable. I know seat should be lowered. Would like it to go back some. Can package tray be trimmed? Seat is like a big muffin. I like the memory foam idea. Thanks for the suggestions.

 

springs can be shortened by using good wire ties will lower seat and also narrow back rest then use different density foam for seat and backrest Ron Mangus shows it in book Custom Auto Interiors

My upholstery shop suggested ditching the bottom springs on my '40 split back seat, so I replaced the bottom coil spring ***embly with plywood and foam, resulting in a very comfortable but firm seat, which may be applicable to your '36 seat bottom.
