Guys I need some help. I have a 36 Ford Tudor that is bone stock. I have replaced the springs with reverse eye Posie springs. I would like to get the front end down more. I was thinking of installing a 4 inch drop axle. I would also like to put juice brakes on the front and rear. Can anyone tell me what year axle and spindles I need? I am wanting to keep the wide five wheels. Where can I buy it. I would like to buy and install the axle first and then the new brakes later. I would also like to install a T5 in the car later so will I need to split the wish bone at anythime?

Installing the T5 will require that you split the wishbone.I have a 36 5W and used a superbell 46 " wide 4" dropped axle ,37-41 spindles w/speedway dropped arms(so the tie rod would clear the wishbone).I did orig run 39 hyd brakes and wide 5 wheels.I changed over to discs later.I have a T5 and used Ch***is Engineering trans mount plate and their split wishbone kit.My rear is a 57 Ford wagon 9" w/3.70 gears.I used the Ch***is Eng leaf kit to mount the rear end.PM me if you want more info.

My '35 is similar to DL. Posie spring, 4" drop with disks. I also used CE spring kit out back with an 8" Ford rear. Only a flathead pushing it and the 8" is a bit lighter than the 9". '39 pedal ***'y, Mustang m/c, bent my own brake lines. T-5 behind the '52 flattie and 3.55 gears. about 2400 rpm at 60 mph. Flattie loves it.
If you convert the orig. rear to open driveline for a t-5 remember to add a torque rod or something to ***ist the rear radius rods. Or buy wheel adapters to keep the wide 5 on a "newer" rear.

This is a little late but if it were me I would drop the axle you have or exchange it for a dropped 36 axle. Switch to 37-41 spindles. Grab the backing plates and hardware off a 39 or 40. Use your stock drums and rear. Convert to open drive as said before if going with the modern trans, you'll have to split the front bones as said. You'll need a master cylinder and pedal kit with residual valves on the lines to hold brake pressure.
