A short update. Haven`t been able to devote much time to the project as my mom is still hospitalized and I spend time with her most days. She just turned 87 yesterday. But! - Brake lines are done & bled. -The dash is filled with the gauges and switches. -Cooler & lines completed, trans & converter have been switched out for something milder and TV cable/pan/shifter installed. - Plug wires recut and installed. - Floor painted & installed. - Seat outta the coupe and into the truck. - Battery & cables installed. -Wrapped the steering wheel to cover some of the cracks. Used marking string that took way too long and painted it. -Urethaned the bed wood. -Cleaned and painted the headlamp parts for reassembly. I try to get on it when I can but Mom comes first...
God Bless you and your Mom,Moms always come first, mine just turned 81,Take care, truck looks great also! Lucky

Thats pretty productive for a short list...engine and bed wood look great. Hope your mom gets better! My prayers go out to you and yours!
I'm definitely interested. I have a '36 Ford Truck in mothballs waiting it's turn. Meantime, I'm reading, researching and formulating a plan. Please keep posting!
Thanks for the update. Heading up to Ohio this weekend to pick up a 37 Ford Truck. Looking forward to starting a project much like yours!
I know I`m moving slow but getting some small stuff buttoned up when I can. After going thru four different seats this one fits the best and is full width. Just have to have it covered in something a little more fitting to the truck. It`s out of a Venture van(rear seat) and I cut about 35 lbs of excess weight off of the bottom and mounted it on Speedway sliders. Made some inner fender shields to seal up the engine bay and it helps add strength to the fenders. Not gonna run hood sides. Wiring is done from the front and rear to the dash and as pictured, I`m in the middle of making it all end at the fuse box. I used the H4 conversion for the lamps and installed 1156 bulbs and sockets for running and turn signals in the buckets. All glass is now installed. Door glass is a bitch with old regulators. The glass moves forward at the end of the cycle and the glass has to be perfectly positioned for this to happen. New driveshaft installed, old bumpers I picked up at a swap meet installed with little bumperettes. Had to make all new bumper brackets as stock brackets didn`t even come close to fitting at the right height. More to come....
46" widthwise. Touches the doors when closed but doesn`t wrinkle. As you know the `35-37 cabs narrow up going forward and most seats are square. The coupe seat I tried was 43" and looked too small when the door was opened(gap at the inside cab corner). Not a fan of the square looking seat but it`ll get better after upholstery and it just sits right for me.
Can you post more info on the H4 headlight conversion that you did? How was the amber turn signal mounted to the light?
The H4 conversion is a Speedway kit and is fairly simple to install. You have to enlarge the reflector center and install the bulb holder w/retainer ring from the back. I used an oversize socket for support and tapped the retainer into position. For the turn signals there are two options. One is buy the add on kit from Speedway that fits around the H4 bulb(did this on my `32)or if you prefer a parklamp option like I do install an aftermarket socket w/1156 bulb in the second hole of the reflector. There is room for a short socket. I picked those up at a local trailer accessory store and just be careful not to go too big on the enlargement as it needs to fit tight. Hope this info helps.
Super clean build looking real fine.. Nice job.. What is the mat inside the cab floor? looks perfect for a Truck. Not a big fan of carpet..
Thanks for the encouragement. About 3-4 hours of wiring left and it`s off to the exhaust shop. The mat is actually the wood floor painted with basecoat black. Easy to touch up and it`ll get a rubber insert for the foot areas to make it non skid.
As it turns out, I have the H4 lights in my truck. I'm going to pick up some 1156 bulbs and sockets and give this install a shot. Any chance you can take an up-close picture of your light? Thanks >> James
Finally finished wiring and exhaust so time to fire `er up and see what leaks out the bottom. Got a couple of miles on her and so far no major issues. Need to center the steering wheel, take care of a bad rattle (front bed panel support) and adjust the neutral safety switch. Started making door and kick panel trim last night to cover up the raw interior. I don`t think anyone makes a headliner for it so that`ll be next. Nice to hear it run after 6 months of work.
Well done, Very nice. I hope to fire up my dads 33 while he is here in town, its been too long already and I have a ways to go.
"I don`t think anyone makes a headliner for it so that`ll be next." I have one I bought from Bob Drake. It's formed ABS. Don't know how well it fits.
