  9. So I have had the car on the road for a couple years and have made it into two magazines. That's pretty cool!! One was a small local magazine that is a fun magazine based on the Little pages of yesteryear, the other one was a national print "Ol Skool Rodz". This month!!! Get it now!! So I called up the owner that found the car in the field back in 1961 to see if he was still at the same address as he is now 91!!!!!!! Unfortunately he had some bad news, his Wife Marita had died last fall. The good news is Russ is planting a garden, working out 3 days a week with his son and seems to be in the best of spirits and is keeping very active. So the reason I called is to let him know that his car has made it into publication twice and I wanted to send him the books. This is what I just received from him. This all makes it worth it!!!!!!! Don't forget Russ is 91!!! He has seen a lot in his time!!

    Hi Steve,

Thanks soooooo much for those two magazines . The articles and pictures are fantastic. I am amazed that the paint is holding up so well after so many years of handling and ***embling etc .Steve, can I keep the magazines ,I would be glad to pay you for them .I will probably wear them out showing them to all of my friends who use to give me a bad time for not putting the car back together. It sounds like you have just a few things to do to finish the project. How much will the car be worth when you are done? Probably a fortune if you figured the hours it took and the cost of parts to get it to where it is now. Money doesn't always make you happy or unhappy but the satisfaction of completing the project does.

    Take care, Russ.

Russ, if it wasn't for you storing this car for all those years, I wouldn't have the car that I have today. The only thing I wish I could have changed was be the one that bought it off of you in 2003. Oh well. It sure looks great in the pictures even though its not perfect but that's what makes it different from all the other 1936 5 window coupes. It's got great history and it's not over restored like the other gazillion 1936s at car shows. I'm not too sure how much it will be worth or is worth for that matter. Maybe $22,000? Maybe more, maybe less. I paid quit a bit for it but I paid probably the going price. If I didn't have to redo everything that the previous owner did I would have been a lot more happier but so far since I got it on the road, all is good. The time I brought it to your place, the vibration was a wheel weight that flew off and created an unbearable drive home but it was fixed easy enough. I would never think of taking any money for those books!! If you want a couple more I could send you another couple. I look at this as your car and really feel that way. Maybe because you originally found it in the field over 50 years ago and had it so long. I am soooooo glad to have tracked you down as you seem like an old friend and someone I am proud to know!!! Anyway, let me know if you need a couple more as my supply may run short. I am glad you like them and I will keep you informed on all my car endeavors'. Your autohaulic friend. Steve Leary. The new 1936 Ford Caretaker!!!.
