Based on the views you are getting, you have a lot of people checking it out. Some people just don't do a lot of posting. I like to a least let the person know I appreciate them taking the time to post, and showing what's going on out there. I also may learn something, which will help me out. Keep posting.....Jim

Jim I will it is just nice to here from looker's or lurkers & occasional suggestions. We have 1 or 2 other major builds coming up soon plus a couple of other projects in the works. Just need the room to do them & working on that. Our quality work & reasonable labor rate helps.

Since I started my 47 build thread I realized how much work it is to take the time to post pics and explain whats going on...so when I find a thread I really like (such as this one :D) I try to let the poster know how much I appreciate the effort ! I love all the good metalwork threads...but they are even better when a really cool custom is the focus !! Keep up the great work, and its nice to see that you are helping a young lady get into the trade ...there are far too few ladies involved ,hands on in this hobby ,cheers!

Thanks guys, JamesD We need some photoshoping Ideas on the rear for the bumper. The tail lights will be custom made > shaped sorta dual 56 Packard like with the side spear line breaking in the center. Trying to figure out bumper single thin between tail lights or rolled pan & nerf bars any ideas don't want gaudy it must go with the flow. I don't have the slightest idea how to photoshop. I have a hard enough time posting pictures with explanations. Any thoughts thanks.

We are playing with the rear corner radius,
The first is the Dodge pillar.
    DSCN8944.JPG
The next 4 are different radius we are considering.

My vote, your right, no radius at all doesn't look right. Number three looks like too much. One, two and four all look about the same. I don't think you could wrong with one, two, or four. Each looks good.:)

Out of the four radius shots I like #1 and #4 the best, but they are all nice.....Jim

Just keep tabs on how many views this thread has, not everyone posts comments but we're all still into it. I'd like to say nice job and keep on passing on what you know to the next generation. Without that the hobby dies. I've been around a piece of metal a time or two and it's still fun to watch how someone else does it. Keep up the hard work !

I would go with #4, less is more in this instance. I think it flows the best with the lines that are now on the car. But what the hell do I know ? :D

I´ll help you out, but maybe when you get a bit further along with the lights and back end. If you can take a photo of the area, then it´ll go much better.
I like the sound of what you´re planning though.

Max started working on the rear quarter glass frame it is 100 thousands thick 304 stainless. The frame & chanel system will be built before the quarter is finished, we need to make sure every thing works & fits together before doing the final install on the quarter.

Due to over whelming demand namely the owners choice which we here in the shop agreed with it's # 4 for the rear corner radius. The rear windows will be fully functional.

You are correct, many people lurk and follow this thread (like me) and never comment. Thank you for taking the time to post your work, and please, don't stop.

X2. Great work. I don't usually clog up good threads with gratuitous comments, but damn! I wish my work looked half as good as yours!

We got some bad news todays but was sorta expecting it. My customers work has slowed way down for the winter so the Custom 57 Pontiac is coming to a halt for a few months. Max will do some tack welding on a few things for the roof section to make it solid enough to transport to the owners garage for storage till things pick back up for him next year when the weather around here breaks.
He was working on the upper window molding when we got the news so the trim is stopping at this point.
    DSCN9070.JPG
The rear roof skin will be trimmed fit & tack welded for now.
    DSCN9090.JPG
    DSCN9094.JPG
    DSCN9095.JPG
He will do some more next week then off to storage for the winter.

Hey it's the pits when things like that happen, but most of us have had it happen to us, or had to do it to others. Hope the other jobs hang in there for you, and keep posting whatever work you do, its good to view it......Jim

After the Pontiac leaves we have a 36 Chev coupe coming in for several things & I think a 41 Ford convertible when the Coronet leaves.

Thanks for posting all the detail pics, seeing how the experts do the sheetmetal repairs always helps the little guys when faced with similar jobs. I'm doing some repairs on my 41 pickup at the moment and all these little tricks do help.
