I noticed my 1939 Ute has a completely different style shackles than my 1940 willys coupe. The first two pics are from the 40 coupe.
Hey Drumy n29, My 38 Willy's 2 door sedan, which i am using a frame that came from a 37 sedan has the spring mount and shackle set like you are showing your 40 has. I also have a 40 frame and the springs mount completely different, the front springs shackle in the front and the rear spring use the button pin like you show in your picks. My 40 frame used the button pins on front and rear spring mounts, but had different shackle set up. When i first got my sedan people told me that Willy's from 37/42 were all the same, this is not true, I have come across so many different things since starting this build that it just amazes me how different they all are. Some times i wonder if the just had a lot of parts and built them the way the felt that day. LOL well good luck in your build. I have found it to be rather interesting putting this piece of history back together.
The pics of the C type shackles are for 37-38 and 39 model 48s. From the 39 Overland the spring mounts changed. I bet your wheelbase will measure 100 inches instead of 102. The front springs on the 39 Overland on were hinged at the rear. Your 40 coupe is on an earlier chassis, can you read the frame tag above the crank hole on the cross member? JW
