I have a 1937 lincoln rear end and I need to know if they were differnt from the same era ford banjos .Im trying to put 9 inch axles in it and the gears on the end of the stock37 where they meet the spider have 18 teeth. And acording to all the how to's on doing this interchange they should have 16 teeth . Does any one have a stock ford axle laying around from a late 30s early 40s banjo that can tell me how many teeth they have ?

Not sure about 37 lincoln, but up to (and including) Ford1939? they had 18spline meshing with 12 tooth spiders. From what i can work out 1940-48 onwards gave you the spiders you need.
You need 11 tooth spiders to mesh with 9" ford conversion.
www.hotrodworks.com have them along with everything else you need.
What R&P gear ratio do you have?

If you cannot find any, Hotworkworks have 'used' ones for sell, or they did last time i called them.
I'm saving cash for a rodsville q/c set-up but i am looking to save wherever i can. So, if you find some (like really cheap$£) let me know. I'm after some also. Thanks
