Crazy that was built in '37, if I had just seen the pictures of it without the background, I would have swore up and down it was a 70's build from the early 30's revival/kit car era. Especially those sweepy but kinda square fenders and the big apron on the front that I would have said most likely covers an LTD independent front suspension or something similar.

i'll tell ya what it looks like to me, it looks like everything else that people with too much money and no taste do to cars, and it's been obviously going on for a long time!!

It looks like a "formal" Pierce Arrow limo that they opened up the drivers area and closed off and chopped the p***enger area. As well, they stretched the fenders. Looks like they may have stretched the back too.

I believe it started as a 34 Lincoln town car.

Looks like the design work of Tex Avery. Made up by the studio prop department.

Reminds me of a great Jesse James quote:

"This is the kind of car that I thought was really nice when I was a little kid"

They had that Lincoln-turned-old-car on Monster garage. Wish I could remember what it was. Must have blocked it out. :)

Ya know, I hate to say this, but that grille looks kinda like some of the early stuff that Goerge Duvall did. Look at the windshield frame too... Not the actual Duvall type, but custom made non the less. And So-Cal Plating did have some connection with movie cars if I'm not mistaken... Makes one think.
