not much mate.. been travelling the last 3 weeks with work, been home 4 days in that time. Gonna drop off some engine covers to be bead blasted tomorrow.... other than that, I'm distracted by an old wooden cable drum; turning it into a little outdoor table on castors. The next job is engine out (again), and cut/weld the little scallops to let my ALT & pwr steer pump have some clearance. Cheers, Mudgy

  8. OK Mudgy here is an update. I found a 1939 Graham license plate light at the spring Carsile flea market 110 acres of rusty gold. I thought this was to cool not to own. I installed it the curve fit the trunk lid perfectly just finished the wiring this evening so I would have something to post, Thank you for the motivation!! Jim

  11. Thank you 51 Cambridge yeah I was able to negotiate a little on the price. I was a little bummed that it didn't need any metal work to install. Looking forward to seeing you this summer! Hobo Jim

  12. OK I have been working on the Plymouth build finishing up some wiring on the horn and starter solenoid. Then I finished fitting the radiator after some adjusting so the bottom hose would clear the steering everything was going smooth until I hit the radiator an split a core line now I have to get that fixed. Nothing really picture worthy just tying up some loose ends and creating others! Hobo Jim

  14. Yeah I don't think it will be that big of a deal, but I will find out this week the good thing is the radiator hasn't had any fluid in it so that should make the repair easier.

At least the radiator can be checked out after the repair, and you'll know it's all good to use. Silver lining mate, great progress.

  24. I had some garage time today installed the exhaust manifolds and hooked up the exhaust. Then I installed the ground strap from the motor to the frame Thank you Ram Rod 36 I also installed the grill nothing really picture worthy but definitely progress! I did layout the possibility of a three door in chalk I don't think I will be going that direction but it is something to consider. Thank you Johnold38 for the suggestion. Hobo Jim

  25. OK so I have moved onto the front seat I have given this a lot of thought and I am excited to see how this comes out after searching the flea markets and coming up empty I went to the local junk yard. I scored a rear seat out of a Volkswagen Cabrio that I believe will work perfectly for my front seat it is a low back with no head rest about 46 inches wide and I don't have to reupholster it. Please ignore my would blocking spacer just there for mock up.

OK now for the plans I really like the Ford Phamton seats so I want to fabricate my version I started working on the side panels tonight using some scrap shelving nothing like free metal!

Not bad for a rough fit this could be really cool in my opinion stay tuned !!

  28. Mudgy good to hear from you! still working on the seat along with a really busy schedule so much not having to reupholster the seat the leather was so dry it cracked. No big deal know I will learn how to sew. I hope to be picking up the metal for the back this week.Hobo Jim

    Hi Jim,
Not much doing at my end.. still stuffing 'round with hard lines/plumbing right now...... I just picked up a wiring harness from a '93 Toyota Aristo (almost a Lexus) ..... picked 18 modules off it ! I think there may be a module that detects the driver farting..... so many... I just want the wiring, so I'll sell off the black boxes as a job lot

    Those seat sides look good

    Cheers Mudgy

  30. OK so my seat that I really like and I wasn't going to have to do anything with well that was to good to be true the leather was so hard that the seat actually cracked
    IMG_2626.JPG

leaving me with a decision I talked to the local upholstery shops and they were out of my price range I also looked for another seat no luck. I decided to try my hand a upholstery. Having never done this but driven by wanting to do this myself for a little money I went with the Lets see what happens attitude and as always very traditional. I couldn't think of anything more traditional or easy to learn than hand stitching.

So after some time and bloody fingers I ended up with this I think its pretty good for my first attempt I will be making one for the other side to match.

IMG_2629.JPG Please ignore the chalk guide line I forgot to wipe it off prior to taking the picture. Hobo Jim
