    Msc, Grainger , Mcmaster ,
I like having the book instead of the online catalog find it hard to navigate.
Needing to know the ID of tube & OD
Of shaft , then check spec on bearing ,
I like using seal bearings ..
Then there are times , maybe Id can find ,& not Od or vice reverse , then creative thinking required, or cut bushing / bearing out of Brass / Bronze,

Welder To make shaft bigger where Bearing will ride / set , turn on lathe
For press fit or cut for Snap Rings or both ,,
Some times Id of tube to big , on lathe
Make a Bushing to fit Id of tube then Id
On bushing to fit Od of bearing,,,
I have cut many columns & adapt ,
I have cut OEM Upper tilts off & adapted ,from other brands , there are alot of "Aftermarket "steering columns on the market that are just " Junk" including Flaming River,

Also if you have the experience and know what you're doing you can also make your own collapsible column shaft

    Made my own several 32s,
So the original locking for the steering wheel lock works,,, ( Original Drop)
Doing this Does & make it easier when you have Lathe & welder ,,,
    But not necessary..

Sometimes you have to do the farm fix hand tools ,hacksaw ,cracks in your porch to make and use like a metal break,,
Some times Just need to think out side of a box

They make an upgraded rubber bushing with a bronze insert
They work great and still retain some vibration dampening
C and G ford parts and Sac vintage ford has em

    ^^^^
    For Vibration could you use
urethane, with Bronze / Brass bushing
1-2 inch deep into / down column tube.
    With bushing centered.

Many guys on Fordbarn hunt down and use the wheelbarrow bearing from Ace Hdwe.

  6. I like to use a F-1 bearing, cone, and spring. Drive the bearing down into the tube with a pipe.
