Oh man, you hear about these things being loose in the woods.

I want to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all. I am very thankful for the HAMB and all of its denizens, especially those who contribute to this thread.

  4. Oh wow...does that bring back memories! I found 3 like that. One in the woods west of Winnipeg Manitoba (now belongs to a Geezer Gasser w/Rumpa on the license plate), one that was in the woods of Northern MN. (now belongs to a friend of mine in the Twin Cities), and my coupe, which was sitting in a farmer's field in North Dakota in 1985.
It is a neat picture...if I ever get a scanner, I'll post some pictures of these three.
Great picture Dave. Who would have guessed there were that many old coupes that survived!!!

    Happy Thanksgiving as well!

I'm thinking that coupe in the weeds post @3482 is what Bogger Raceing started out with way back when? If thats correct, I'm thinking there's a Blown Olds in between them frame rails and not a Hemi.

Check post #3486...that is the one that ended up with Booger Racing. It laid on it's side
(drivers), and had no dents in the roof. The one in the pic. looks a bit like it, but appears to be a '40, the one on its side was a '38, though C.L. might have swapped dashes. You are right about the mill. He has a blown Olds in that car

Obviously, Bill, you are correct about post #3486.....that's NOT Booger 1..... though the picture is pretty close to your "first found" shot in my scrapbook. And yes, the dash was changed, only because the "sheetmetal wizard" who started the project (and more effectively drained my pockets) cut the original dash out and cut the drip rails off the car.....and threw them in his dumpster.

Two years and 3 sedan parts cars later, the coupe was resurrected. And the rest as they say is history. I think somewhere in the very early postings of this topic, there's a picture of the car as it is now.

  19. And a sweet car it is...It was a treat for me to see all the coupes I had make it to the road. Almost done with my '36 sedan, but that's another story!
