Don't know who this is, but it's out of a magazine from 1966 called "Wild World Of Funny Cars" in an article talking about drag classes.

 

The Filthy Forty at indy the year that pork zartman won the nationals.

 

Perfect compliment to Mark's thread on 33 to 36's..! My Dad ran a 40 before the 33... here's a early shot of his car...

Speaking of Dave Hales, how about some pictures the day he brought his famous Willys gasser home! I think Dave said he paid 50.00 for the coupe in Nov. of 1962! Last picture is Dave and Gene Altizer cutting into the stocker.
