Features 1937 to 1942 Willys Picture Thread

This was my first Willys. I have had seven all told, 4 coupes and 3 sedans. All were from the 40 thru 42 era.

Not Ralphs car Nick , it's Bobby Lombardi in his "Eastern Automotive" car. This car is a street rod residing in Staten Island NY.

Here is a 1964 elimination race between the Airoso Brothers Willys Coupe and Atts Ono’s Willys coupe.




I was set up next to my friend, Mr. Childers from the Dilday Ambulance Services White Pontiac. We were talking and the two race cars started lining up. So, I started filming. Mr. Childers walked over to the back of his ambulance.

Then a huge guy in a uniform (not the local police) yelled at me to get the $%$# out of there. My tower side filming location was discovered since Mr. Childers was no longer standing next to me. It was not the normal guard, as this Gas Coupe event was very big. It was a new hire.

The yelling surprised me, consequently the film is a little shaky and was not as clear as I wished. That guard told me in so many words that he would throw me out of the dragstrip, if I did not stop filming and get back to the pits.

The Airoso Brothers Willys Coupe pulled away to win the race at the end.

But, in the next round, nothing was going to stop the C&O Hydro Willys truck from winning the race and eventually the whole B/Gas Coupe Class.
