Is this a one of a kind body? Or was it a production run?

Man, if I ever won a lottery...

I think it's made from a 41 Sedan, the one that has the exrtra quarter window behind the rear door. The rear looks like it's made pretty nice. The decklid profile follows the lines of a real coupe nicely.

  4. This car was made from a '41 sedan body. The guy who built and owns it lives in St Paul Minnesota. Looked forever for a coupe, and didn't find one. Decided to build his own. A number of months back I sold him a '42 sedan body, and he was going to build another one for someone else. He did do a nice job of blending the body together to get the coupe effect. He made the coupe doors out of front and rear sedan doors pieced together. This has been a very dependable car for him, and is powered by a 392 Hemi. Picture was taken at MSRA Back to the 50's .

This would be from 1962 when they were still trying the chain driven B52 aircraft starter as a blower on the Hemi. That conv was VERRRY rare.

    Kev,
We have this picture. Barb Hamilton gave it to us. It's just too cool.

That photo is Muncie Dragway, circa 1964/65. The 50th anniversary was to be celebrated last fall with a 26 car Geezer Gasser field, and a recreation of the photo. Unfortunately, Mother Nature stepped in and rain, wind, COLD, canceled the event. Muncie hadn't had rain for 2 months prior, with mid/upper 70's for a month.....we show up, and things go to shit. Oh well....
We were in negotiations with Dave (track operator) thru the winter for a date for 2011, and unfortunately, he passed before we could finalize the program. We are still working at it, with Dave's wife, who is now in charge of things.
The plan is, once again, 24-28 period correct, straight axle, nose up Geezer Gassers to recreate the Gasser Wars in the midwest.
If you want to see it, call the track and let them know!!!!!!!!!
    We need a date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that this was the AA/GS that made a sudden right turn into the Irwindale guard rail around '70...pass was straight as a string until it suddenly veered right, hit the rail almost head-on...the gas tank exploded and those of us watching were sure it was a fatal until we saw the driver silouetted in the flames running from the wreckage, think he got out relatively unhurt...about half an hour later a fire truck showed up with lights and siren, they saw the fire miles away and came rushing...though it was a house fire.

  12. You would think a Pontiac dealer would have a GMC pickup for a shop truck.....
