I don't think the auction crowd goes for the "time capsule" type of car. The SILVER DOLLAR pickup at the Barrett-Jackson didn't bring what many thought it should. They like the billet stuff.

  11. I have know the owner of the beautiful grey '41 for many, many years, and I have crawled around and under the car several times. It is definitely a time capsule, and I took several occasions to verify the originality of several cars and parts I have had by how they compared to this great example. Hate to see it leave the area, but we all enjoyed it for the years it was here!

  15. How do you know that? I'm friends with the owner and we had breakfast on Saturday he wouldn't even tell us the reserve, but he said it wasn't $100k. You must have been the guy who bid big $$ to find out what the reserve was and then retracted your bid, lame.

The size of these holes are 7/8" diameter. That grille is from a '58 Ford grille insert. Vic

I'd try and hook up with some Ford owners website and ask around there. Few times I've seen them advertised, they were referred to as "Gasser Grille" - how funny! I think if you can locate one, it'd save you buku time. Beat the bushes, they're out there. Vic
